Supper yesterday was simple zucchini zaater labneh tarts with a few tomato zaater, and mushroom and cheddar for the non zucchini tart eaters🍅(It can be slightly bitter) I make these with asparagus too and it’s deeeelicious! 😋I can’t resist a flaky veg tart and the @homeofswitz pastry squares worked perfectly for these *not sponsored .
What’s your topping of choice?? Zucchini tart
3-4 small zucchini/Baby Marrow or any veg of your choice (cherry tomatoes/cooked mushroom/asparagus) and/or cooked chicken
6 squares of ready cut puff pastry
About 8-10 tbsp labneh (you can replace this with cream cheese)
Zaater, fresh and dried
Salt and pepper
Mixed dried herbs
1/3 cup ground Parmesan/regular cheese
Optional: chilled flakes, crushed black pepper, sumac
Slice veggies and set aside.
Cut an edge into each pastry square.
Spread the labneh or cream cheese onto the pastry onto the middle square.
Sprinkle enough of the herbs, salt and pepper on top.
Brush the edges with a little beaten egg.
Carefully place the veggies over into neat layers if possible (and chicken if using)
Sprinkle generously with dried zaater and then cheese, fresh zaater leaves, and black sesame seeds or onion seeds.
Bake in a preheated oven till the cheese has melted and the pastry is golden brown and flaky.
Serve hot! ...
