Monday: ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต Breakfast, Japanese style, fresh miso soup with local Shanghainese tofu, spinach with sesame and peanut ใปใ†ใ‚Œใ‚“่‰ใฎ่ƒก้บปๅ’Œใˆ, green beans with a sweet soy dressing, disco rice with furikake, tamagoyaki, a rolled omelette mine has nori seaweed in between the layers, roasted baby squash (from Saturdayโ€™s visit to organic farm) tossed in honey. The beautiful thing about a Japanese breakfast, whilst it seems a lot, the portions are actually very small and everything is light and never greasy. Also starting the day with three portions of veg isnโ€™t bad!

Sunday: Kimchi and sesame fried rice, with organic ๅฐ็™ฝ่œ (bok choi) that I picked yesterday at the farm! Some added Chinese sausage and a crispy bottom fried egg ๐Ÿš๐Ÿณ Easily one of my favourite leftover breakfasts

Saturday: Baked eggs in creme fraiche, with dill, lumpfish caviar, radish and a drizzle of nutty @arganic oil, buttered toasted with vegemite, deliciously sweet and tart raspberries and a cup of my own tea! โ˜•๏ธโ˜•๏ธ

Rarely am I up this early on a Saturday, but Iโ€™m off on a little trip this morning to an organic farm outside of Shanghai with @fields_lifestyle and will be posting some Stories later too! Tune in! #symmetrybreakfast

Friday: Croque Madame ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ‘’ with a smoked salmon instead of the traditional ham, the egg on top is supposed to resemble a womanโ€™s hat (very old school) and is definitely one of my favourite sandwiches ever! Finished with some artfully sliced avocado, mustard and fresh mango juice ๐Ÿงก What a Friday feast! #symmetrybreakfast

Thursday: Champorado, a Filipino chocolate rice porridge, I used a mix of black and red rice for more texture and bite, I also topped mine with sweetened coconut milk and finished with a flourish of fruit ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

Still too chicken to try it with tuyo ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŸ๐ŸŸ a traditional topping for champorado, a small salty dried fish! Would you give it a go? We should really visit the Philippines to try the real deal and I may be persuaded #symmetrybreakfast

Wednesday: Mโ€™smmen (recipe in my book) that Moroccan flatbread with the buttery layers, with a twist, I added sesame, grated parmesan and VEGEMITE into the folds. I think Iโ€™ve just created heaven on a plate ๐Ÿ˜ with honey and avocado, sounds a bit of a mad combo but it works so well. Fresh watermelon juice and a cup of my tea ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

So after about 25 years of thinking I hated Marmite and Vegemite, I tried it again in Sri Lanka (of all places!) and was like woah! Downside of living in Shanghai is that I am sure Marmite is banned because even with my ingredient hunting skills am unable to find it. Any help from the locals? #symmetrybreakfast

Tuesday: Wonton soup ๅฐ้ฆ„้ฅจ, one of Chinaโ€™s more common sit down breakfasts (although Mark said it was like eating tortellini at 8am ๐Ÿ˜‚), Iโ€™ve added coriander leaf, hot Sichuan chilli and a slug of sesame oil. First cherries of the season, so red I had to get them and a cup of #symmetrybreakfast blend tea โ˜•๏ธโ˜•๏ธ

Monday: Eggs, red peppers and tomato, with mini cornbread rolls and tahini on the side ๐Ÿ… I roasted the toms with whole garlic cloves and then mashed them up in the tahini for a slightly softer variation on the usual raw and grated I make โญ๏ธ Topped with pepperocini and finished with a cup of my English Breakfast tea made in collaboration with @rareteacompany
