I'm a massive fan of anyone getting into the gym and doing the big 5 movements correctly, squat, deadlift, bench, overhead press and barbell row.
But I'm perplexed at the amount of women who are doing some these movements and calling themselves a powerlifter.
It's great that your doing these movements, but some of you are just spending hours taking photos of yourselves and doing a couple of poor lifts and calling yourselves powerlifters.
It's becoming the new crossfit that everyone thinks it's fashionable to be part of this clique, without putting the hours of training on and putting yourself against the best.
I commend anyone that wants to get into this sport, but being on the platform and being in the gym are completely different things.
I play football sometimes, but I'm not a footballer nor will I claim to be one, but I don't mind a kick about.
Lift safely, train effectively and develop your skill Base, but know that a powerlifter puts themselves out there against others, not just on instagram.
