BANZAI PIPELINE, Oahu/Hawaii (Saturday, December 15, 2018) - The Billabong Pipe Masters in Memory of Andy Irons, the final stop on the 2018 World Surf League (WSL) Men’s Championship Tour (CT), will see another lay day with decreasing 3-to-4 foot NW swell Pipe and Backdoor. Event organizers will wait to run the competition as a new NW swell is forecast for Sunday through Tuesday. “Due to the decreasing swell and winds kind of looking okay but fading and inconsistent out there this morning, we are going to be off for the day,” said Kieren Perrow, WSL Commissioner. “We will come back tomorrow. We are expecting a really large swell to fill in overnight. Pipe could be absolutely firing. Hoping that it is not going to be washed out, but there is going to be some incredible action, so tune in tomorrow morning at 7:30 a.m. local time for the next call.” The next call for the Billabong Pipe Masters will be tomorrow, Sunday, December 16, at 7:30 a.m. HST. At this time, event organizers will reassess the conditions and decide if the competition will run.
