Another Raindrops Festival goes by and this year I managed multiple roles including that of performer. Each year I'm more amazed at the abundance of classical dance talent we have. Here at Samved we have a role - minute it may be - to play in ensuring that classical performing arts thrive and that #Mumbai continues to witness some amazing performers year after year. Thanks @umakathak for entrusting me with this responsibility. Until next year. #dance #culture

Looking forward to dancing again with my gurubehns. Thanks @umakathak for believing in us. Do come on July 13, 14 and 15 at Mini Theatre, Ravindra Natya Mandir, Prabhadevi to watch some of the finest dancers of India. #dance #kathak #bharatnatyam #Odissi #sattriya #vilasininatyam #culture #Mumbai Message to book donor card.

The many moods of Dhruv.
Met this munchkin at a bachcha birthday party and what a nautanki he was. Refused to share potato chips with all but one girl. My requests for just one were turned down repeatedly. His best struck pose, one used to depict that he is mighty miffed at his mother's and the world's lack of acknowledgement of his tantrums, isn't captured here. It involved Dhruv crossing his arms with his head down and grumbling. Fully adorbs.

For the last 27 years, monsoon in Mumbai for me means it's time for Raindrops Festival of Indian Classical Dance. Last five years, Indrayanee Mukherjee and I with the support of @umakathak have been welcoming artists from different parts of India. In this year's edition we celebrate the five-decade long journey of our guru. Students of Uma Dogra's School of Kathak perform, followed by the premiere of Kathakar, a film about Uma Dogra, on July 13. Next two days watch performances by some of India's finest rising stars including @nayantara_kathak @durgeshgangani. Donor cards for Rs 200 daily. Message to reserve. #dance #dancers #Mumbai #culture

Spent a lovely evening @bijalvv's house where among the many highlights was seeing her dad, Mr Vachharajani's, amazing record collection. There were many gems (Teesri Manzil, Ravi Shankar, KC and the Sunshine Band, Mehdi Hassan to name a few) but these three covers stood out for me. Two of them are proof that Dev Anand is da ultimate debonair man. Look at him showing off a bra and underwear to Zeenat Aman with swag, and carrying off that fake moustache with panache . The third one is memorable for two reasons - that 50s musical craziness of a cover and @nehasumitran's pronunciation of the title. Thanks Aunty for a delicious spread. #films #records #music

Finally visited @rohini_chic's new house which she has lovingly turned into a home. Love the tables from Jaipur and Myanmar, and the tiles. So pleased for you Ro! The evening ended with - wait for it @menacesingh - a vegan chocolate chia pudding topped with mangoes. Delicious. #dessert #vegan

So yesterday was an ordinary day. Strolled into Trident and spoke to Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, Oscar-winning producers of Moonlight and 12 Years A Slave. Had a Here Comes the Sun and Mumbai Meri Jaan moment. Then was part of a special audience that got to see Brad Pitt and Shah Rukh Khan talk about movies, how they can't dance (happy to give them lessons) and why Netflix matters. Yeah, no big deal. #films #ZOMGBradPitt Thanks @netflix_in

Been in Mumbai for three decades and still there is so much to discover. You will always chance upon something wild and Mastani. #Mumbai

Dear Aunty,
You left us too suddenly and too soon. You were one of the warmest people I had the pleasure of knowing. Humility came naturally to you. Your love and concern for your daughter was a reminder that the roles you made memorable on screen, you enacted them even better in real life. I'm sure wherever you are your radiant smile will brighten up the place. Miss you.
