It’s time for #WomanOfTheWeek, part of Stylist’s #VisibleWomen campaign to raise awareness of women who are making a difference to society and to celebrate their success.
After selling her company for £48m in 2011, entrepreneur and data scientist Edwina Dunn decided that she wanted to inspire young women and girls to pursue careers in male-dominated fields. So she founded @the_female_lead, a multi-platform project designed to educate young people about the professional achievements of women from all walks of life. #TheFemaleLead book, featuring profiles of women including film directors, chefs, doctors, activists and sportswomen, is now set to be donated to 18,000 schools and colleges in the UK and US. “We want people to see that success doesn’t necessarily mean being a celebrity,” Dunn says. “You can be any size, any shape, any colour, any age, and you can still do amazing things.” Read our full interview with Dunn at the link in bio now.
