There was a point in my life where I turned to nature and the energy behind it to find my true self. I meditated at a secluded part of a beach everyday, read so many books on alchemy & spirituality, and felt the natural world fill me up with beauty. I lost this sense of myself years later, not that my life went wrong, just turned at an opposite direction. Here I am now, craving this energy back. I met Rachel at a networking event last month, but it wasnโ€™t until another event that I started talking to her. She did a complimentary cleanse on me with white sage, palo santo, essential oil spray, a feather smudge fan, selenite crystal wands, and a Tibetan singing bowl... and it was nothing that Iโ€™ve experienced before. This was in front of people so I canโ€™t image how Iโ€™d feel if it was private. ๐Ÿ”ฎ
Rachel is Filipino, Irish, & Native American. She is an Interior Designer for residential and hospitality, Certified in Classical/Flying Stars Feng Shui & a Reiki Master. Her job sounds so cool right? Also, sheโ€™s a mother to two beautiful boys, ages 7 and 5. We chose water as her environment because of the way she is so calm & collected to me. Also, she looks pretty badass in the water... she reminds me of a good, modern witch. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜Ž
Rachel is so inspiring and she has influenced me to incorporate some spiritual wellness back into my life. The aromatic and sonic senses that she performed during her cleanse gave me that nostalgic feeling of who I was and gave me the energy & light to bring some of me back, into myself now and to my family. โœจ

โ€“ Kim โ€“ ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
Meeting up with people for the first time, especially if youโ€™ve never met before, is super awkward and you get the feeling of butterflies in your stomach. When I first met Kim, I had all of the above. This was back in 2015 when I was pregnant with my first child and wasnโ€™t confident in myself about applying and getting out there for jobs. I specifically wanted to work at the San Diego Museum of Art and she worked at MCASD, so my brother in law thought Kim would be a good contact to have. She was right off the bat so friendly and genuinely wanted to help me, my mood after that day changed, knowing that there are people out there who are as awesome as she is. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜Š
Kim is Filipino and she now works as a customer happiness agent at GoFundMe. She previously worked as a visitor engagement liaison, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in San Diego. Iโ€™ve see her work multiple amazing jobs and so happy to see her supporting another non profit full time. The vibe we went for was this open lush area below the Cabrillo Bridge, but these eucalyptus trees we saw matched her perfectly... super chill. ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ
Ironically, I did end up working at SDMA, so meeting her worked! Her tips were spot on but most of all, she told me that I have what it takes to work there. Isnโ€™t crazy how when someone outside of your circle reassures you that you can do something, you believe them just a bit more than your husband? ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Kim has such a chill and genuine vibe about her and it inspires me. I wish everyone has someone like her in their circle. Definitely a woman who supports women, even strangers lol. โœจ

Being an entrepreneur is hard work and takes time, focus, and creativity. What makes it even harder, is being a mom. What makes it even harder is having two children. What makes it even harder... is two kids under two. I met Sheree through Instagram and felt instantly connected with her because I, too, am trying to create a successful business with my husband, while juggling two children under two. Not gonna lie, weโ€™re crazy but weโ€™re making it work. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ
Sheree is Filipino and co-owns โ˜•๏ธ MeKa Coffee [ @mekacoffeesd ] with her husband, Jeffery. They are the first pop up coffee cart in San Diego and uses only organic coffee beans. They do events + weddings but they are also serving coffee at Sandbox [ @sandboxvenue ] every Tues & Thurs in Downtown SD.
Being a mom of two toddlers + being a mom boss and hustling for clients, the main thing to remember is to know what is important. Creating this balance between the two and knowing you are doing this for your children. Iโ€™m always inspired by other mamaโ€™s out there, fighting for their dreams and Sheree is definitely one of them. She always puts her daughters first, I mean... she did name her business after them, Mena + Kaya. โœจ

We are in the midst of post production for our awesome client @micromeetup ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ and were instantly drawn to the focus on health and wellness and if you are too, Krystal, founder of Micro Meetup, is hosting Yoga After Dark [ @yogaafterdarkevent ] this Tuesday! โœจ Head on over to her IG and check it out! We will be there, filming & photographing the event along with other cool vendors like @paruteabar and it will be epic! ๐ŸŒฟ

We finished up @pluckycharm new makeup video and we absolutely loved the way it turned out! We added some fun elements to pair with her monochromatic and minimal look, so keep an eye out for it this coming week! I mean, look at this thumbnail ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’„

This weather is making us want all the latteโ€™s & deep conversations ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐ŸŒงโ˜•๏ธ ...but also it is perfect editing weather! #alwaysediting

โ€“ Jessica โ€“ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต
Having a kind heart and being passionate about the arts are two things that inspire me from my friend Jessica. I met her at SDMA and my first reaction was that she was so soft spoken, but had a strong voice. What I admire is that she has a niche of what she is passionate about and has turned it into a blog, an outlet for her to educate her audience.
Jessica is black, white, and Japanese. She is Education Assistant at the Mingei Museum and also has a blog called Black Visual Impulse [ @blackvisualimpulse ], where she writes about modern and contemporary art of the African Diaspora. She wants the work of marginalized artists to be more accessible and less intimidating and being at the museum she sees kids have their first experiences with art of other cultures and that inspires her. She loves plants and foliage because of its nourishing environment. ๐ŸŒฟ
@jezkaoh is so kind and supportive. I love how sheโ€™s so natural and carefree but can also be a boss. Sheโ€™s also pretty funny when she doesnโ€™t mean to be, which is the best kind of funny! ๐Ÿ˜…

โ€“ Kendal โ€“ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณ
Art has always been a passion of mine and itโ€™s such an honor to be working at the San Diego Museum of Art, where I meet fellow artists and creatives. I met Kendal on my first day and I remember her being super nice & friendly. Sheโ€™s always had a leadership position while Iโ€™ve been there, and I find it amazing that she is so humble yet confident and easy to talk to. Also, she is an awesome artist so I had to feature her in my series.
Kendal is half Chinese, half white (Irish, English, & Scottish) and also an 1/8 Iroquois, which is super cool and important! She is Manager of Operations at SDMA (& sheโ€™s only 26!) and also an artist. She draws intricate figures and my favorites are her animal skulls and insects because of the detail and also itโ€™s so aesthetically beautiful. We chose this environment because it matches the intricate + delicate detail of her drawings/sketches.
What makes @kendalistrash so inspiring is that she is a leader, not a boss. She leads with integrity and actually cares. Iโ€™ve had my fair share of bosses who lack this element (thatโ€™s why Iโ€™m my own boss ๐Ÿ˜‰) and it is so great that she encompasses this. Sheโ€™s also pretty badass for being a manager at a young age and her signature colored hair is ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

Sometimes we get in touch with our romantic side and bring you this magic. Actually, this is all them really... seriously the cutest and emotional homecoming. Thanks again @ohjlisa & @bradenwatts for letting us document this beautiful moment! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜ญโฃ๏ธ
