Conrad Benner  Discovering art on the street... Named one of the ‘Best Blogs for Travellers’ by The Guardian + ‘Most Influential Philadelphians’ by Philly Magazine!

I am in LOVE with this new mural by @mollycrabapple at Front and Oxford streets in #Fishtown, a part of the ‘We The People’ series curated by @vandalog and commissioned by @muralarts!

Tuesday vibes by @brunofsky!

Over the last two months Philadelphia has had a total of 3 monuments to historical women, now we're back to 2... Click the link in my bio now to learn how and why Philadelphia just removed one of its few monuments to women, and why now's the time to begin to address centuries of patriarchal monument making!

Another amazing photo/installation by @sheldon_incollabwith at 13th and Market streets in #CenterCity: “One of my top two favorite things about Philadelphia is dudes ripping through Center City on dirt bikes. I hear the sound and my ears perk up like a dog and my head swivels to catch site of them… I can’t help but yell ‘Fuck Yeah’ and more recently think of a phrase spoken to me by my friend William about what it means ‘to be free in a carceral state.’ To live in a country that currently and continuously seems to be encroaching on our personal rights and freedoms ripping a dirt bike around City Hall with a gang of your homies is an amazing act of rebellion. Also doing it in a Sproles jersey earns you all the extra Philly love… Yeah I know ‘it’s dangerous’ and yadda yadda, but I can’t hear any of that over the waaaaaaaamp! waaaaaaamp!” (The mural on the sides of this abandoned pay phone is by @ljanet__)

Philly: It's your last chance to see @_kkp_‘s temporary monument to the Philly stoop apart of @Monument_Lab in Washington Square Park... Don't miss it, if you haven't seen it yet! #MonumentLab

Y'ALL: So excited to partner with @Timberland for one of their best collabs yet, teaming up with the Center City District Foundation to lay 65 yards of dirt, transport hundreds of pavers, plant over 800 shrubs (and even a couple of trees!) at what will soon-be Philadelphia's next great public space @TheRailPark! #TimberlandServes #Spon

Episode 3 of the Streets Dept Podcast is now live! Come listen to my interview with artist Marisa Williamson (@contentawarepatchtool), who's working to make history alive in people’s worlds, now at the link in my bio! (The Streets Dept Podcast is brought to you by our sponsors at the @NavyYardPhila and @IndyHall; each episode is mixed and edited by our Producer @cinderblockhandsman!)

"I think the root of vulnerability and empowerment is leaning into discomfort. When you open yourself up to vulnerability, the good and the bad kind, and accept the discomfort, it empowers you." Check out my interview with Philly-based street artist, @BlurStreetArt, today on the blog: StreetsDept.com! (Or see my latest Instagram Story to swipe up for the link!)

Y’all, the world famous Tunisian-French artist and graffiti writer @eLSeed is coming to Philly this month, and I’m so honored to be hosting a conversation with him for @AlBustanSeeds and @MuralArts this Sunday (11/12, from 3-5pm)… You will NOT want to miss this: Tickets are free, but you'll need to RSVP and you can do that now at the link in my bio!

PHILLY: This Tuesday (11/7) is a crucial local election. Hope you'll join me: 1) In voting! And 2) In voting for @KrasnerForDA and Rebecca Rhynhart for City Controller... Tag any of your friends that you want to remind to vote!

JOIN ME: My 2nd Saturday Street Art Tours are back for the months of November and December before we take another short winter break and return in March 2018... Click the link in my bio to learn more about the November 11th tour exploring #CenterCity and get your tickets now! (Mural in photo by @jimmyjamesdaniel) #StreetsDept2ndSat

LAST CHANCE: Tomorrow night (Saturday 11/4, from 8-10pm) is your last chance to see @michelleangelaortiz's incredible "prototype monument" for @Monument_Lab... Titled 'Seguimos Caminando' (We Keep Walking,) Michelle's temporary monument is a series of animated projections on the north apron of #CityHall that honors mothers previously or currently unjustly detained at the Berks Detention Center, a prison outside of Philadelphia for immigrant families... Y'all gotta go see/support this! <3 #ShutDownBerks
