Zercher Deadlift: 263 then 278 lbs, beltless. First time since December. Goal is 160 kg (352 lbs). Even with light weights, this lift is so painful because of how I do it. Sumo Deadlift: 445 lbs, 11 total reps done today. Watch til the end for a lesson in heart and intensity. Felt so hard after squatting today. My bar rolls since it’s made for Olympic weightlifting, getting a new bar that doesn’t. It kept getting out in front of me because i just couldn’t push my hips through fast enough. My shins are bloody, I shit my pants on every single rep (I actually did), and my right hand tore open my upper thigh because the bar kept going sideways. This is what it means to grind. None of this “my callous hurt” bull crap. I used straps but then threw them the heck away from me when I realized what a wuss I was being. “It’s gonna happen right now or the muscle’s gonna break off”.
