St Lukes Hospice Harrow &Brent  The local hospice for Harrow and Brent providing free care and enabling people with incurable illnesses to live well.

St Gregory’s Sixth Form students brought some festive cheer to the Woodgrange Centre patients today. They sang some classic Christmas carols but also entertained with a bit of Wham!’s “Last Christmas”. ❄️Thank you St Gregory’s!❄️

Thank you everyone for supporting St Luke's Hospice at Santa Dash, and raising much needed funding to help us continue to provide our care throughout Harrow and Brent.
We hope you've had a great time!

Thank you to everyone that has supported Light up a Life this year and helped raise a wonderful £15,000.
Your help makes sure that St Luke's can continue to support people at the end of their life by providing the complete care they need in the place of their choice.

The male Apollo choir are kindly performing for us today.

They say, “We are once again privileged to appear at Light up a Life, we marvel at the care and devotion displayed by staff and volunteers. Every year we learn more about the hospice and how invaluable it is to the local community."

Over 350 people are being remembered as part of our Light up a Life celebration today at St Luke's Hospice.
It's beautiful to see the community come together to remember friends and loved ones today.

Gwyneth’s brother was cared for in St Luke’s In-Patient Unit where he peacefully passed away. ‘St Luke’s staff were so kind to my brother, Dennis. He fought a courageous fight against his cancer, maintaining a positive attitude and determination throughout. The staff were amazingly thoughtful and committed to making his last days as comfortable as possible by helping to manage his pain and for supporting family and friends with compassion. Always willing to give time to listen, they were always ready with a smile or a hug, however challenging the situation. We will remain eternally grateful for these wonderful people.’ Please consider donating to St Luke’s to help continue to provide hospice care to people in Harrow and Brent this #GivingTuesday

Angela Zellar will be remembering her father, husband and mother who were all cared for by St Luke’s at Light up a Life this year: “Mum was diagnosed with oesophagus cancer and when her condition deteriorated she was taken into St Luke’s. The relief on my mum’s face when taken into the hospice was something money cannot buy. The care she received was incredible and the nurses were there for whatever mum needed. Mum remained in St Luke’s for a couple of weeks, before she sadly but peacefully took her final breath with all the people she wanted present. Both my father and husband received the same incredible support whilst under the care of St Luke’s staff and all three passed away over a two year period. The hospice kept me strong through this difficult period and this is why I will be remembering my loved ones at Light up a Life.” Join Angela and dedicate a light to someone special at www.stlukes-hopsice.org/lul. Your support means people at the end of their life get the complete care they need in the place of their choice.

Brian, who comes to the Woodgrange Centre, spoke to the other patients about his father being in the war as part of the #PoppyAppeal and the period of #Remembrance.

He was proudly wearing his father’s medals and talked about the difficult and traumatic experiences the soldiers went through during the war.
Our Woodgrange Centre patients are of all ages, and come from many different backgrounds to our weekly day care sessions.
We love hearing them share their life experiences and see them form great friendships within the group
