Though Alyric faces a serious diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia, her cheerful heart remains unchanged. “It doesn’t really affect her,” her mom says. “Just to look at her, you couldn’t tell anything was wrong. She likes to laugh and have fun and jump around.”

“She’s taught me what it’s really like to persevere,” Lilly's mom says. “She has taught me what it’s like to fight, even when you don’t feel like you can go on any further.” When Lilly came to St. Jude, she couldn't walk, talk or swallow. Her response, "My life is forever changed by being a St. Jude mom! Anything is possible."

When Micah was a baby, doctors discovered a cancerous tumor wrapped around her spine and predicted she’d be paralyzed from the waist down. She was treated at St. Jude for stage IV neuroblastoma. This Spring, Micah danced the night away at her junior prom, an experience she described as one of the best of her life. Her mom said, “St. Jude is a place of miracles where our daughter was given a second chance - not only at life, but as a walking, dancing symbol of hope."

Kinlee's family arrived at St. Jude the day after Thanksgiving. Since then, in spite of her brain tumor diagnosis, her family has found so much to be thankful for. “St. Jude is the biggest blessing of our life” Kinlee's mom says. “I know without a doubt that Kinlee is in the best hands. Everyone here is phenomenal.”

Allison was just 4 years old when she underwent treatment for high-risk neuroblastoma. She has always loved dancing and often showed up to her appointments in her dance costumes. Dr. Glenda Newell-Harris, national president of the @thelinksinc, reads the ABCs of cancer on a tour of St. Jude. “I was personally very moved and touched by what I saw walking the halls of this hospital,” she said. “It’s an open, warm, friendly place. It’s child focused.” St. Jude is the first healthcare organization to receive the Links Foundation Legacy Grant, which will be used to advance cures for sickle cell disease.
