Suspend all expectation 💚
Whatever your thoughts are, they will not be the reality. Whether you are #thinking good things or bad things, the #reality will be otherwise.
We are trained for survival and so the mind runs into possibilities and anticipates problems. However, this can distort our reality so all we see are problems. (Example from a question I found in my inbox the other day) You are moving to a new place. Finding your social scene, keeping up with chores, being true to your academic responsibilities, these are all things for you to work out. Your mind has alerted you to this and that is good. Anything beyond that is pure junk.
Assuming you wont make new friends and wont keep up with your #responsibilities is just as absurd as assuming you’ll be the most #popular person there and easily ace your classes. Both perspectives are overly simplistic.
The best thing you can do is suspend your expectations. Don’t make up your mind about anything until you get there! Yes your mind may still have imaginations but don’t take them seriously. They are just that: imaginations.
#Transitions happen on their own. You can resist them, you can fear them, you can #embrace them, it doesn’t matter. It will happen anyway.
During a time of transition, take a piece of advice from #Osho : “Don’t swim; float.”
Don’t worry about things just yet because there is nothing you can do about an imagined future! Work on being at ease and at peace now.
Practice daily meditation. You will figure it out from there and things will be good.
