Stephanie Uchima-Carney  Fearless entrepreneur & #momboss trying to change the world one company at a time. Lover of tech, excel spreadsheets, coffee & travel. {๐Ÿ‘ช @carchima}

Wayfarers Chapel is one of my favorite wedding ceremony venues. It holds a special place in my heart because my parents got married there, so when I got to plan a wedding there last year, it gave me chills! I'm super excited to be back there this weekend (as a guest) celebrating the wedding of one of my closest friends since 7th grade! {๐Ÿ“ท @chardphoto}

"It is confidence in our bodies, minds and spirits that allows us to keep looking for new adventures, new directions to grow in, and new lessons to learn - which is what life is all about." ~Oprah

How many of you meditate? ๐Ÿ™ I've always had a hard time quieting my mind. The amount of random thoughts, things to do, things I forgot to do are always running though my head at a million miles an hour (maybe it's a mom thing too). โ €

Since January, I've made a conscious effort to try to meditate daily for at least 5 minutes (10 if I'm lucky) and then journal (my husband says I'm getting more "woo woo" these days). I don't do fancy journaling (live, bullet, whatever all those are), but I was inspired by @jessclively to "write to my intuition" after I meditate in hopes some internal words of wisdom will magically appear. I've tried multiple meditation apps (Headspace, Calm, Simple Habit...), but I still haven't found one I love. Any suggestions?

Happy First Day of Spring! ๐ŸŒท I'm already loving the longer days and warm weather (although apparently there's rain in the forecast... so tired of the rain in LA)! Time for some spring cleaning, shedding the old, and clearing the clutter!

Anyone else want to just spend the weekend sleeping in and relaxing? OH WAIT... I can't because I have a kid. What is a weekend? ๐Ÿ˜‚ #lifewithatoddler

Happy St. Patrick's Day! ๐Ÿ€๐ŸŒˆ I thought today would be a good time to do a #FridayIntroduction because did you all know I'm Irish? (jk, but my married name is Carney, so doesn't that count?) Since I'm switching gears a little, I thought I'd reintroduce myself to the Instagram world. โ €

Hi! I'm Stephanie! (insert awkward dorky wave here ๐Ÿ‘‹... because yes, I'm actually a total nerd). I feel like I've won the lottery every day because I'm the mom to an adorable 21 month old #ChaseOliver and the wife of @m_carney (who is my dream guy). I'm a SoCal born and raised beach girl who dreams of living on Maui yet has a closet full of preppy (chic) clothing and high heels (totally not beachy). My favorite subject was math (I actually majored in it), I'm terrible at sports (my head is a natural magnet for flying objects) and despite being very analytical and OCD, I also have a creative side which led me to the wedding industry. I come from a family of real estate entrepreneurs so by default when I went to USC for my MBA, I focused on entrepreneurship and real estate development. However, I've always had a passion for helping people and developing new ideas. So hope I can help more people soon!โ €

3 Fun Facts:โ €
1. If I could eat one food for the rest of my life it would be a burrito ๐ŸŒฏ โ €
2. I have a signature dance move that goes along the lines of dropping it like its hot, could be how I got my nickname "she ain't nothin' but an Uchi-Ma-Ma" (my maiden name is Uchima - get it?)โ €
3. I love musicals, especially anything by Sondheim or classic R&H and you'll never find me at an ALW musical (sorry Phantom lovers)โ €

Besides being a super cute guestbook idea for a destination wedding, this Maui wedding is bringing back so many wonderful memories! Maui has such a special place in my heart. I know I was just there in January, but it wasn't long enough. I wish I could live there...well maybe for a least a month. {๐Ÿ“ท @annakimphotography}

So on Monday morning I woke up and opened my curtain only to be faced eye-to-eye with a 4" grasshopper (although at first I had no idea what the "big bug" was in my face). I don't think I've ever screamed so loud. Good thing it was on the other side of the glass! It sat there for hours just peering into my room.โ €

In Asian cultures the grasshopper is a sign of many things including good luck. So I decided to go to good ole Google for some insight and this is what it said: "Grasshoppers can only jump forward... not backward, or sideways. So, when grasshopper shows up he could be reaffirming to you that you are taking the right steps to move forward in your current situation. Or it could be that he is telling you to go ahead and move forward, getting past what is hindering you. This is why grasshopper is the symbol of good luck all over the world. Grasshopper's ability to connect and understand sound vibrations is why he is also a symbol of your inner voice. He could be telling you to trust yours."โ €

My mind has literally been going a thousand miles an hour brainstorming and mapping out my next venture. I can't stop thinking about it. Superstitious or not, sometimes all you need is a little sign to reaffirm that you're working in the right direction.

Tuesday's are the new Monday's for me. Since I spend most of Monday with Chase, I use Tuesday & Thursday to focus on work. It's amazing when you have "less time" and flexibility, you're actually more productive and organized. I always took my childcare for granted, but now without it, I try to maximize every second I have to myself whether it be working, meditating or working out! I'm pretty sure I have accomplished more and have been more productive and ambitious in the last 5 weeks without childcare than in the 5 months preceding that! #momboss #worklifebalance

So much love for the soon-to-be baby girl at today's ballerina themed shower.

Lucky for you, that's what I like, that's what I like".... okay I can't get that Bruno Mars song out of my head right now. The sun is shining, it's 75 degrees by the beach, I worked out for the first time in months and it's Friday!!! I can't help but dance and sing while walking to grab some iced coffee. Cheers to the weekend! ๐Ÿฅ‚ #Friday

I'm pretty sure I have an inspiration obsession with @marieforleo. I also can't believe I quoted her and announced to the world (aka social media) way back in July 2016 that I was going to start a new venture right after I left my "full-time job." Well that didn't happen. I hit some road blocks both personally and professionally, and it took me a while to get back on track, but I'm back at it again! I'm still honing in on exactly how I want to do what I want to do, but I figure, I should just start.โ €

My intention with every company I've started, job I've held, or volunteer role I've assumed, has always been to make a difference. Whether it be in one person's life, an organization, a company or the universe, I truly believe that the bottom line should be in making a difference and the rest will follow.โ €

So in the meantime, I am going to be blogging about entrepreneurship and my newest endeavor on building a startup while already being a mom. I thought starting a company while single / no kids was hard or going back to work as a mom, but starting something new as a mom is a whole another ballgame!!! #internationalwomensday
