I would like to thank my friends and everyone who has reached out to me. I have been crying for two days on behalf of my good friend Chris Cornell leaving us.
As some of you know Chris was a person I looked up to and I was lucky to meet him in the early 90s. We became friends. Chris besides being a idol of mine was just the nicest person and so much fun to hang out with. In the early 90's I went on Lollapalooza and man what a blast. Yes I saw Soundgarden every night for 5 weeks & we hung out after almost every show. Yes living the dream. After LP I got a call from his manager asking me if I was ready to come see Chris in Seattle. I said yes, but I was broke and she said Chris already got your ticket your leaving tomorrow. As I arrived in Seattle, some strange reality came over me and I remember thinking, how is this possible that my favorite rock star is my friend and he's really picking me up and I'm really going to hang out with him for a week. He was a little late so I was thinking maybe he isn't coming to get me. Then as I'm doubting
everything, I look across the airport baggage areas and here comes the man in a cowboy hat sunglasses and just looking like THE BAD ASS ROCKSTAR HE IS. The next morning we went wake boarding at his lake house and he wanted me to go first so I did and it was just us. When I was tired and got back in the boat he jumped in and I said "wait what do I do?" he said just don't run me over! I didn't.
That night we sat around the fire pit told stories laughed a lot and he played and sang a few songs from Temple Of The Dog. Yes this was something that actually happened to me I still cant believe it's true. I wanted to share this story because it's one of my favorites. All my love To Chris's Family
And friends Soundgarden , Temple Of The Dog, Audioslave, and Fans he will always live in my heart and I feel blessed to have known this fucking amazing human!
