2012(first pic): tons of cardio/conditioning with very little strength training
2017(second pic): tons of strength training with very little cardio(running, cycling, etc)
Can you guess which picture I have less body fat percentage in? If you guessed 2012 you're wrong! I weigh 15 pounds more now then I did back then playing lacrosse but my fat percentage is much less now even though I weigh more. I was "skinny-fat" back then and always had knee problems while playing lacrosse. I also had VERY little muscle mass even though I was well conditioned.
LADIES: running/cardio does nothing for your strength, and strength is what will make your body work better and look better as you get older... not the running. If you want to burn more fat, weight train. If you want a better body structure and physique, weight train. If you want your body to work better as you age, WEIGHT TRAIN!! See the pattern here? It's all about the weight training. -
