So far this has been one intense and wild journey! 🎉😂🙌🏼 I started this process with a central goal: to be the first ever in this competition to build an entire story narrative that connected each video to the other to create one big series that featured not only the power of transformative makeup artistry, and encouraged you guys to learn how, but also to tell a story that is so close to my heart and so personal to me and to so many of you
My story is about anti-bullying. I was ruthlessly bullied most of my life. From the time I was 8 years old, all throughout my teenage years, and to this day, I have been bullied.
I was bullied for my skin color, bullied for my hair, bullied for my physical disabilities (I wore leg braces for years), bullied for my name, and bullied for my family's roots (we were not rich by any stretch)
I would come home in tears from school every single day into my mother's arms, and she would try to comfort me. I learned early on that I could survive the bullies by focusing on my art. So I would create. I kept my head down and worked on being the best possible at whatever I created, feeling like one day, my art would speak for itself. That one day, my art could help others, and encourage them to find their passion, stand up for themselves, and love who they are
That is why I created these films. That is why my version of beauty vlogging looks like this. I couldn't foresee taking this time to just do cool makeup I had to also have a message and a story behind it.
Thank you again with all my heart to everyone who has supported my art, creative vision, and storytelling with your comments, sharing personal stories of how these mini films have impacted your lives, and of course votes. You are the reason I create what I do. Why I share these stories. Why I feel so honored and blessed. ⭐️
