It's amazing how many things come in different types that we just clump together in one category and call it fruit. Even though, all of these fruits are different, they seem to interact in harmony. Now if only we could take this lesson into politics and society. If only. .

The last stop on the trip was Niagara Falls. Boy, what a true marvel. The power and chaos that emulates from this massive flow of water somehow is peaceful. I definitely had one of those "the world is so much bigger than me" hippie moments.

Today in The United States it is Presidents' Day - so you may have had the day off (or not). In Canada it's Family Day which to me sounds so much more fun, and inviting. As I venture around #Toronto we ended up at the Eaton Center - I saw @newyorkfries and had to get them. They call it a Poutine - fries with sauce, cheese, meat, bacon and green onions. So many options. .

I love the mornings here in upstate New York. They are so peaceful and serene even when we are covered in snow and it's too cold to go outside. My breakfast of champions? A nice hot cup of coffee, something sweet and a really good view. .

The weekend is finally here and if you're like me lately and have been glued to the news, it's been a long week no matter which side you're on. Just don't forget to take a minute (or 10) to remember: remember what's around you, where you come from, who you are, and who helped get you there. Finally, remember that we all need the same things to live and be free. .

Today felt like spring until I reminded myself that it was only January. Even still, things tasted more refreshing today. A cold beer sounded like a good idea today. And some ice cream wasn't a bad idea either. (Taken with the new portrait feature on #iphone7plus)

Shooting today with @krebsrestaurant in #Skaneateles. Such a historic restaurant tucked neatly in a serendipitous lake town in Central New York. Whether you're traveling or nearby, don't pass up a chance to stop in here. I am constantly surprised with the beauty of the space, the food and the staff. Oh and one more thing: the restaurant is 100% non-profit. All profits get donated to local woman's and children's charities. Now there's something you don't see everyday. 👌 .

I'm back (again). I needed some time off from this social media world to think and to focus. Think about what's next, and what the future holds. Focus on how to get there. And sometimes along that journey you need to take a minute, set your phone down and take in what's around you. .

I don't care what time of year it is, it's always a perfect time for oysters. Raw oysters. Fried oysters. Oyster Po' Boy. No matter which way you open the shell, they're delicious. So many different types from so many different places. What's your favorite type of oyster? .

It's true - you really do go full circle sometimes. After coming back to my roots and my home town, with a new perspective and a new passion, I am amazed to see what has changed. As technology and social media bring us closer together, trends spread faster. @krebsrestaurant is a gem for this area. Bringing fresh, quality and seasonal cuisine (in appropriate portions) to your table. After 10 years in New York, this brings some familiarity into my life. If you haven't been, you should go. 'Tis the season, after all .

@polaroid closed down its last factory in 2008. The idea of the instant 600 film was dying. Photography was changing. Then someone told me about @impossible_hq and their passion for real photos. I am happy to say that I have added to my gear an original Polaroid OneStep Instant 600 camera. Fully and beautifully restored, and operational. As I wait for the film, I remind myself, and all of you, how revolutionary this concept was, and how it changed the idea of photography forever. .

What's your daily grind? #WhatsYourStory

The snow has finally stopped. Time to get ready for thanksgiving. Maddy is enjoying the deep snow in the yard. Winter is here to stay. .
