I visited South Korea for the first time in almost 7 years this past Dec. It was also my first opportunity to travel to cities in Korea beyond Seoul. @cochate insisted that we visit Donggung Palace - and specifically at night. I'm glad I obliged as we were able to see and capture this beautifully reflected scene in the calm water at dusk. For my next "wow" travel experience, I would love to return to Korea and spend time traveling around Jeju Island.

i can't join them tonight, but you must check out @briannewmanny & the boys for some live tunes @gramercyparkhotel | #musicians #stylemaven #coolestcats

We traveled out from Madrid to a small town in Toledo called Consuegra: famous for their windmills. We arrived in the middle of siesta (note: in Barcelona & Madrid, we had not witnessed any semblance of taking a siesta because all shops and restaurants were open), so it was a little jarring to be greeted with nothing but the sound of birds and the breeze through the trees. It was about a 20 min walk/hike through the village and up the hill to get to the windmills and castle which overlooked the town and surrounding agricultural plains - almost standing guard as silent watchmen. The only people we encountered were the few other out-of-towners, but the peaceful quiet allowed me to escape and imagine what this scene could have been like centuries before through the eyes of the fictional Don Quixote. For my next "wow" experience, I would love to go back to Spain and visit Basque Country in the north!

Part of traveling is taking in culture, and from my perspective, a huge part of culture is food and drink. During my time in Barcelona, I happened upon a speakeasy hidden behind a pastrami shop with the most creative cocktails - both flavors-wise and presentation!

Photographers often say that an overcast day is perfect to shoot because the daylight is diffused. Cloud cover and light rain provided mysterious lighting and certainly helped keep the crowds away... affording a dramatic shot during our visit to Fushimi Inari-taisha in Kyoto, Japan. For my next "wow" trip, I would love to return to Japan, but go further west to see the wisteria tunnels in Kitakyushu, Japan

Several years ago, I tagged along on an impromptu trip to Iceland. The first night, I just wanted to get some rest but was convinced to go out to see the Aurora Borealis. Clearly - based on the shot I was able to capture - it was totally worth it! For my next "wow" travel, I would love to go to the opposite side of the globe - the far reaches of Patagonia. Perhaps I could witness the Aurora Australis?

Light rays like this may last mere seconds in Antelope Canyon. On one of our first trips together, I convinced @cochate to spend three days in the desert with me, and being able to capture this shot was totally worth it - right?! This moment reminded me of scenes from Indiana Jones that I watched as a kid, and for my next "wow" experience, I would love to go to Petra

I had an opportunity to travel in India during Diwali a few years ago. Witnessing the celebrations along with the sharing of food and laughter was unforgettable. For my next "wow" experience, I would love to go back to India to partake in and photograph the Holi festival
