⚠️KIND OF PERTINENT: In the last three months, Rory and I have relocated from New York to Kansas City; and unexpectedly from Kansas City to San Francisco due to a job opp for my main squeeze (so proud of you
@roritobirmingham!). We moved in (again) to our new place and got married shortly after (wow weddings are HELLA FUN). Crazy couple of months, all good problems, and our hearts are brimming over.
With so many big changes, I decided to add another onto the list just for kicks! I have taken an opportunity with the SMART Program in San Francisco, an education nonprofit serving low income students in the city. It was time to listen to my heart and put my energy into something I care about immensely. Some of y’all have been following the Bakeshop for a long time, and that constant support and encouragement have been the only reasons I amounted to any sliver of success. I am so thankful for that. You have no idea.
While there is no way in hell I’ll stop baking or painting ever, it won’t be my primary profession anymore. I’m nervous, excited, and really ready for the change. I’ll be lowkey taking orders for family and pals (you’re all my pals) and will hopefully have a little more time to paint on paper again (yay prints!) I attribute anything I’ve accomplished to my network and its positivity and kindness. I’d be nothing without you, whether I have actually had the chance to hug you IRL or not.
Wish me luck (unless you’re a monster) and keep following for random photos of food, baked things, and art. I am also two mojitos deep into my honeymoon and realize how much more I want to say and how much I use parentheses. I love you. Thank you for everything.
