Every chance I get, I tell people that the Boys and Girls Club helped raise me. Without a doubt, it made me the man I am today. This weekend, I had the honor of giving something back to them by photographing the Georgia B&GC's all-staff, training event. These shots were my favorite because it proved to me that the people--the volunteers, the staff, the community--that make the organization a positive place for youth are genuinely energized about what they're doing. This moment took place during an intense game they were learning (in the middle of a hotel convention center lobby) in order to better teach kids how to actively listen. If the staff is this into it, imagine how that energy will transfer to the kids they serve--kids who need a positive shelter.. like I did.
