10 years after my first Kusama encounter at Naoshima Island in Japan on my 26th birthday, we saw this "Life is the heart of a rainbow" blockbuster in Singapore today. I'm a sucker for her paintings above all else. πŸ’…πŸŒˆπŸŽ¨

Onigiri workshop today with this little ray of sunshine. We learnt how to make seaweed, sour plum and egg rice balls! πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ Arigato @iichikotaka oishi πŸ‘ŒπŸ’•πŸ‘Œ

Operation 'try to survive the school holidays without excessive spending in one of the worlds most expensive cities to live in' ... we took the bus, train and monorail, eventually discovered the flower market at Tiong Bahru, spent a whopping $7 on a posey of their choice and going home to draw said posey via bus, train, bus. Oh, and I threw out our TV in protest of all the tantrums, so there's that! 😳#exhaustedbuthappy #superfunday #letsdoitagaintomorrow #singapore #exploring

For a few lovely hours today it was below 35 degrees, so we went for a stroll. #singapore

Hungry Ghosts, 2016, 120 x 120cm. I never saw this painting stretched and framed and this is the first photo I have seen of it since I sent it to Melbourne 8 months ago! #skyejefferys

What? You don't catch the bus in full mermaid costume, crown and dolphin necklace? Just your average Tuesday. 🐬🐚🌊

If you're wondering where I am during the impending 8 weeks of school holidays, it will likely be here. At the National Gallery of Singapore, or @singaporeartmuseum entertaining my kids. Art and aircon. It will be the only way to survive. #heatwave #sohot #cannotbeoutside #melting #yayoikusama

I received this heartbreaking drawing under the door after I sent my 6 year old to her bedroom for repeatedly hissing at me "I HATE you" (because I wouldn't let her eat jellybeans after dinner). I have a strict policy on sugar. It's not a new concept for her to understand and she knows why sugar is not a healthy choice. So while I'm processing how to deal with the new use of the word "hate" in her vocabulary and how to tackle it, this drawing arrives. πŸ’” And now I don't even know where to begin... Why is she outside the love heart? Why? Why? She should be at the fucking centre of that heart. Why is the rest of the family holding hands and she is so clearly separated from us? And crying? Does she feel this way all the time, or just in this moment? Have I done something to make her feel less loved? Is this because she feels different from other people? Etc, etc, etc... and my mind is exploding with all the possible meanings and future ramifications... help!? Any Art Therapists out there that can decode this for me? πŸ˜•πŸ˜”πŸ˜₯
