SIMPLY REAL HEALTH 🍉  A healthy, beautiful, & inspired life made SIMPLE. All real food, 5 'gredies or less. Lover of #dailyjoys & an #antidietlife. ✨ Newest here👇🏼

So much of being healthy means having NO FEAR: of what others think of you, of being the “weird” one, and/or people pleasing.
.

You just gotta do you. Do the stuff that makes you feel great, no matter what other people might think. Bring strawberries as a car snack (like I did today), kombucha to dinner, WHATEVER you want. Do you.
.

The truth? Anyone who makes a lil side comment or dig about it, has their own insecurities about their own health and food- it has nothing to do with you.
.

So, own it. Be proud of taking care of yourself. It’s fierce, not weird. And you doing just that, gives everyone else around you permission to do the same 👊🏻 . #ahealthylife

Ice ice baby + that sweet morning light ✨. Morning (almost summer) magic, at its very best.
.

It’s always amazing to me, what a difference starting my day with a little joy, and a little extra moment of care to set my intentions and what I want to get done/create/dream big about, does, compared to the days I don’t.
.

Honestly? I used to tell myself I didn’t have time. But realizing I’m just a human- and if I don’t MAKE the 5 minutes for space, a million other things will come along and fill it in anyways. All of which, not as important or impactful as taking a beat for myself first thing to get organized ✌🏼
.
Kinda like healthy food- it takes a little intention and thought sometimes, but the impact it has on the rest of our lives is HUGE.
.

I guess all things that really matter and really help live our best lives, are this way, right? That if we make the space consistently, everything else gets easier. If we don’t, things are more squished and panicky.
.

Anyone want to try it with me this week? Tell me below. I’m gonna do it everyday, and just see what happens ✨💓

Do you meal prep for the week? YES or NO? 🤔
.

While I’m personally not super into doing hour long marathon meal prep sessions on my last weekend day, I DO always make 1-2 easy & healthy things on Sunday that can last a few days. Usually from the #simplyrealhealthcookbook ✌🏼.
.

What’s your style of getting ready for the week? Super organized for every day of the week, or more casual approach (but still with intention behind it)? Either way, putting a tiny bit of thought and love into your food before things get too busy, goes a long way in the rest of your life 💓 What are you guys making this week? 👇🏼
.
(And if you need ideas, grab the free 3 day sample meal plan in my profile today and take it for a test run this week. See how you feel when your food is easy, healthy & so much more simplified!) ✨#sundays

Weekend rituals: slow down, relax, laugh & play, with room for a extra lil scoop of my favorite things (yoga, walks, good food and bevvies, and time with my favorite people). 💓
.
After so much travel these last 6 weeks, I honestly can’t wait for a slow and restful few days. What are the best parts of your weekends? 👇🏼🙏🏻

It’s been a week in the practice of surrendering. It’s something I struggle with, especially between running a business and creating a life full of my biggest dreams. That time, so much preparation and planning should always = results. And immediately, duh.
.

But of course, that’s not always how it works. Sometimes it’s so much more of a waiting game. A trusting game. Of knowing that you’re being guided and led, even when you don’t exactly feel like it, or when it’s not on our “perfect” timing. ✨
.
Every time I’ve felt stressed or anxious about something this week, I’ve been stopping. Taking a minute to sit on my little medi pillow (conveniently right by my desk), and just breathe a few times. Inevitably, it’s this thought that brings peace: I trust. I believe. And I know what is meant to be, and what is meant for me, will be.
.

We can be intentional, set goals and dream big (and we should), but at the end of the day that, our attitudes and our daily actions are all we have control over. The bigger stuff? The outcomes? I’m learning still: let it go, and let it flow. We’re exactly where we need to be, to learn what we’re meant to learn 💓
.
A sigh of relief, if you me. ✌🏼

Every season, you guys know I get obsessed with one salad. 🙋🏻‍♀️ Always a fan-girl of keeping things SIMPLE & super efficient, it then becomes my GO-TO for literally everything that season: busy work week lunches (if made ahead), quick dinners that don’t require tons of thought or planning, easy picnic nights, or bringing something good to friends houses). Around here, it’s called #SALADING ✌🏼 and it’s definitely a verb.
.

Who’s with me?! It literally makes life so much easier. And every time you make it, you can tweak one little thing- a new addition or ingredient swap, a different protein, a different dressing, etc and it’s like a whole new meal. But in a non-chalant/don’t try too hard kind of way. 👊🏻
.
So, my ONE right now? This little grilled salmon nicoise with basil dressing. She’s a shining star in the current #springmealplan (available now), but as a little TREAT is also coming to the blog this week for your own summer lovin’✨
.
Make sure you’re on the list to get it when it drops this week, AND get to try a (free) 3 day sample test run of the Spring Meal Plan! The link that gets you both is up above in my profile today💓 #tuesdaytreats
.

Know someone that might want to try either one with you? Tag them below 👏🏻

Because when it’s 80 in May, I’m making the call: it’s officially SPRITZ SEASON ✌🏼
.
A quick how-to (if you don’t already have the #simplyrealhealthcookbook): Prosecco + a splash of aperol + splash of club soda + blood oranges to garnish. Over ICE (key ingredient).
.

Also, PS- did you know you can use any aperitif for a spritz? Aperol and Campari are the most common, but ones like Lillet, Cocci Americano, Chartrusese, and even Vermouth are also fun to try, with this same recipe as a framework.
.

Bonus points that they help the digestive process too. See? Healthy cocktails ARE a thing. 💓 #simplyrealcocktails #summer

// BRUNCH //: (a weekend verb). As in, let’s brunch ✌🏼 Not usually in the definition? A way to do it so you don’t want to take a nap/have a food baby to nurse at 1pm, and miss out on our precious and sweet weekend time 💓
.
Instead? It’s time to upgrade 🤚🏻. With dishes like these delicious HUEVOS RANCHEROS, and all kinds of better brunching ideas are now up on the blog this week, for whatever your weekend may entail. Link is in my profile up above 👆🏻

Truth? It’s been a straight up whirlwind the last few days. I’m so behind on things 😳. 6 flights in the last 7 days. From NYC to Austin to Detroit to NYC to back to Seattle, one thing is for sure- the amount of time I pour into work is somewhat crazy, at least by most people’s standards.
.

Most days, I keep my head down and just keep moving forward. Anyone else? 🙋🏻‍♀️ But then there are these moments- weeks like these where I’m forced to stop and take a beat and look up. Where people make me talk about how far I’ve come. When my stories start with “well, in the beginning...”, or “6 years ago..” and they’re so wildly different than things are now. 🙏🏻
.
Life is crazy, and there are SO many ups and downs we all experience. But isn’t it true that the most life giving moments come when we give ourselves a chance to take a step back?
.

To look up. 🤚🏻To stop for just 5 seconds and take in all of those wildly imperfect dots- our stories— that somehow perfectly connected, exactly as they should have. One thing beautifully leading to the next, even when we couldn’t see it ourselves.
.

Feeling amazed this week, at some of those dots, and this wild journey of entrepreneurship. So in case you need a little pause and stop too, in any area of your life- do it today. 👊🏻

Fill in the blank ——-> Life happens (TO you), or life happens (FOR you)? Take a vote 💓

We met through mutual friends. It was at a giant birthday party, and truth: every single person in the room, knew that we were supposed to meet that night. I remember the minute I saw him- and thought WHOA. ✋🏻 ok, stay calm. Be cool. I remember feeling nervous for the first time ever, meeting someone new.
.

The circle of friend love started slowly closing in around us, nudging us closer until we were almost back to back. Someone spun me around and said- “Sarah, this is Kyle. Kyle this is Sarah.” He smiled, those big blue eyes twinkling and laughing and said “I know we’re supposed to pretend that we don’t know each other, but I’ve been wanting to meet you. Hi.” I laughed, and said, yeah, same.
.

We talked. And talked. And never stopped that night, sitting outside on the sidewalk until 3 or 4 am, after all the bars and restaurants had closed.
.

We’ve never stopped, even today. He’s always my favorite person in every room- just like that first night. It was magnetic and immediate, although I didn’t want to admit it.
.

You see, I never used to believe in love at first sight, or “just knowing” when you meet your person. But, turns out, I just hadn’t met him yet. It was a ease and intuition I could feel in every part of my heart and body. ❤️
.
We have since figured out that our paths had crossed many times before that night— where we’d been in the same room, at the same event at least 6 times before we ever actually met. Now I know it was the ultimate divine timing, at her very best. ✨
.
Because to be honest—we both had a lot of work to do on ourselves first before we could be ready to be loving, forgiving, kind and humble partners, only grateful for the gift of the other, even when things aren’t always perfect. I always think about this time, whenever I feel like I need a little reminder in surrendering and trusting.
.

That all is well, and exactly as it’s meant to be. And believing it, even when we can’t see it ✨💫

Signs of summer ✌🏼 a lil coconut milk horchata, a sweet & slow (sunny) Sunday and some maxin’ and relaxin’ on mandatory tap today before a busy week comes rolling its way in tomorrow. Wishing y’all all of the same today 💓 #sundays
