I was recommended this place by my friend, and so since I looovveeee unagi, I decided to check it out. I was solo, so I thought the queue was going to be not so bad. Got there by 11.30am, and queued for about an hour and a half before i got a table. But I made good conversation with strangers during my queue (plus it suddenly rained and I didn't have an umbrella with me, but luckily I brought a jacket so I bundled my head and stayed under a tree with this guy) - always fun times...
So anyways, sat down and the first thing I saw in front of me was the dude killing the live fresh eels. I mean, I got a first seat to see all blood and gore man....and how the eels wriggle when he stabbed its head with the pin... I was so put off by it and considered not eating, but then the thought of going back in the rain to find another place to eat made me decided to stay put.
I ordered the Hitsumabashi set, which came at record time. It was a perfect portion for one. Looovvveee how the unagi was crispy and so fresh i can almost taste the blood....🤔😐😑
But it was very, very, very good indeed (and they gave you fresh wasabi to grate yourself!). If the queue wasn't that long, maybe I would eat there again. Maybe....
As long as I could get the bloody and gory images out of my head.... 😖
