"Love yourself, kid."
I live for coffee dates, but I'll pick a cup of tea every single time. I am the happiest in a pair of jeans, and I'll always pick trainers over high heels. I love the sight of old bookstores, creased sheets and nothing excites me quite like a stormy-evening drive.
If you asked me a few months ago what happiness meant to me, I would have told you that it was a state of mind, a person or maybe even a place.
It's now been three months of reflecting and healing - I've never felt closer to myself. I'll also tell you today: I was wrong.
Happiness comes from within. It means not being apologetic for your little quirks and flaws, and choosing to own it instead. Happiness is not swallowing your giggle, but choosing to share it unapologetically: laughter really is infectious. It means loving the million little things that you are made of - however weird or ridiculous they may seem. And once you hack that, you'll realise that although life does not necessarily get any easier; it most definitely gets a whole lot more beautiful.
Sharing my humble #musings today: be you, do you. And fully own it.
Everything else will fall into place I believe, or at least that's what I've been told. Evidently, there is a lot that can happen over a cup of tea. Too lengthy a post? #Maybe. Was it necessary? #Absolutely. 😅🙏🏼
