Hit a pb today 2x2@140kg - was slower off the floor than I'd like but in general not too bad

Bench press is my weakest lift by far - amongst the multiple reasons why I have really long arms ... my #monkeyarms πŸ’πŸ™ˆwhich are great for deadlifts but def not bench πŸ˜‚
I'm slowly finding the best position for my body so this is def a #workinprogress but I look forward to seeing what I can achieve down the track!!!

Happy Saturday everyone!!! Had a nice little sleep in this morning before heading to the gym for deadlifts - 3x3@130kg... they did feel harder than last week and for some reason I feel like they should have felt easier than they did πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈI'm such a weirdo πŸ˜‚

Mid-week gym sesh done and dusted βœ… my session today was focussed on my bench press which I'll be honest is my weakest lift of the three... but I'm working on it!!! Gym was packed tonight!
Rest day tomorrow πŸ™ˆ but luckily I have some stuff on to keep me distracted... because I don't like rest days 😝

Another week another deadlift sesh... today we tweaked my set up by taking a breath just before I lift to keep the tightness in my body and it def helped! Now just got to make it a habit! πŸ‹
Did a single at 140kg then 4x5@120kg for deadlift - the 140 was slow off the floor (this is the hardest part for me plus I was slightly out of position) but came up easy from there... and the 120 for reps felt better than last week's 117.5 ☺️
I then followed this with a bench press single and then 3 working sets... and then my accessory work - tough session today but I really enjoyed it!
PS please ignore my deadlift face πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‘ omg it's awful but hey I'm lifting a lot so meh πŸ˜‚

A new PB for my squat!!! 105kg at just over 6 weeks out from comp... and not a struggle either so I'm happy with that! Followed it up with 3x5@90kg which is also a volume pb... and then the usual pull-ups, push-ups etc
Excited so see my progress in the lead up and to crack some good numbers πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ‹

So first session of 2018 and tried out knee sleeves for the first time... omg seriously they made such a difference!!! I felt so much more confident in my squat πŸ˜¬πŸ€”
Had 2 singles at 100kg (which felt breezy) and then 3x5@85kg for all of my squat work and then managed to do all 4 weighted pull-ups sets with no momentum 4x5@7.5kg along with other accessory work
Considering that it was only 3.5 months ago that I finally overcame the 100 barrier with a pb of 102.5kg I'm pretty happy with my progress and looking forward to improving for my first comp at the end of feb πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ‹

What a day!!! "Max out for Mental Health" was such an incredible experience - the support from not just my coach @claudiacoppola and @aviaperformance but all lifters and spectators was second to none πŸ’œπŸ’œ everyone got behind every lift... we cheered and screamed as each lifter harnessed their strength and locked out and we were inspired by each and every single person who stood up on that platform and showed just how much of strong badass m#ther f%ckers they all are ... my pb was not the highlight of my day when you compare it to that!!! And omg if anyone were to call a woman weak you had only to look around the room to see how freaking strong women really are πŸ’ͺ🏻πŸ’ͺ🏻
I was so inspired that I went and trained later in the afternoon and felt so good... the fire is lit and I'm ready to bring it come February πŸ”₯πŸ”₯
