Staying positive and resilient can be difficult when faced with really tough situations and experiences.
This year has been particularly challenging and there have been times when Iโ€™ve found it hard to see the light. However there have been some key things that have really helped me to stay positive and resilient. โœจ
๐ŸŒž Looking for what is good about life and what I have, rather than ruminating on what I donโ€™t have.

๐ŸŒฟ Getting out into nature and appreciating it's beauty.

๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ Being physically active, burning up the stress hormones and producing feel good endorphins.

๐Ÿ‘ฏโ€โ™€๏ธ Connecting with my lovely friends and family. โœจ ๐Ÿคฒ๐Ÿป Supporting and helping my clients - I love the connection I have with my lovely clients and it really gets you out of your head to help others! โœจ

Raspberry and banana bread made with teff, hemp protein powder, wholemeal spelt flour, ground flaxseeds, chia seeds, eggs, light extra virgin olive oil, cinnamon, and a sprinkling of brown sugar on top! Yummmmmm - another family hit ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง
3 ripe bananas, mashed
2 whisked eggs
1/3 cup light extra virgin olive oil
1 1/3 cup wholemeal spelt flour
1/2 cup teff
1/4 cup hemp protein powder
Two heaped tablespoons of ground flaxseeds
Sprinkling chia seeds (maybe 1-2 T)
2 teaspoons cinnamon
Mix well
Lightly fold in 1 cup of raspberries
Pour into baking tin
Sprinkle brown sugar on top
Bake for 50-55 minutes at 160 degrees
Serve!

Kale chips - perfect snack for the toddler and I to share. She asks me to make them and loves helping meโค๏ธ
Just kale and a top quality extra virgin olive oil (I used @cobramestate reserve hojiblanca) - no need for added salt. 10-15 min @ 160 degrees

Homemade mango and raspberry sorbet - really delicious way of eating fruit and much better than a store bought version!

1 cup of frozen mango and 2/3 cup of frozen raspberries blended with a small amount of sparkling mineral water and serve!

People who succeed donโ€™t have more willpower - they just develop better daily routines and habits, which after a while become automatic and require less thought - less conscious energy. โœจ
Small consistent behaviours are key to developing long term habits. Do something every day towards your goal - no matter how small. And then congratulate yourself for doing it. Positive reinforcement! ๐Ÿ‘Š๐Ÿป๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

Feeling bad about ourselves, beating ourselves up and feeling guilty about what we have not achieved makes us stagnant. And itโ€™s really not fun! ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

Recognise when things donโ€™t go according to plan and gently and curiously consider what you could do differently next time. ๐Ÿค”

Simple but filling, nourishing and tasty snack:

Rokeby farms natural yoghurt (who won the healthy food guide 2018 yoghurt of the year) has no added sugar, a whopping 17g protein, 507mg calcium and >22 billion CFU live and active cultures (thatโ€™s a lot of friendly bacteria) per 170g tub. And itโ€™s delicious and creamy!
Then adding a firm banana provides a source of prebiotics (food for our friendly bacteria), vitamin B6 and potassium. And cinnamon has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects and could possibly improve blood glucose control. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป

This chicken schnitzel was made with wholemeal spelt flour, wholegrain bread crumbs and extra virgin olive oil. The salad has nuts and seeds scattered throughout with a natural yoghurt and lemon dressing. Delicious!
