~~ Yoga for lower back ~~ You know that experts estimate that 80% of the population will experience a back problem at some point in their lives? It is currently recognized as a significant and global problem. Yes, we are guilty of overly sedentary lifestyle.

Also, from my own experience as a yoga teacher, I see that more and more people come to yoga looking for a physical remedy.
I was always an advocate of prevention over intervention and keeping your spine healthy and mobile.

You know this saying: you are as young as your spine is flexible.

Try below poses on a regular basis: - Twists in a cross-legged position - Cat & Cow
- Uttanasana (Forward fold)
- Marichyasana III (Seated twist)
- Supine spinal twists
- Cobra (gentle backbend)
- Child's Pose

This is what I always look in my life… β–ͺ Being connected and present,
β–ͺ Tuning into the rhythm and energy of the planet, feeling strong connection with the nature, β–ͺ Discovering links between emotional, mental and physical layers,
β–ͺ Connecting body movement with my breath, β–ͺ Connecting to my Higher self.
Each time when I get a taste of union with all things, my greater sensitivity and compassion arises. And I feel more love. Each experience is a little more real and results in a greater appreciation for the preciousness of life. I don’t feel alone anymore.
I will elaborate more on the subject during this week’s classes.

Even though we are physically present on a yoga mat, we can be totally disconnected and absent-minded. Our mind wonders away thinking about the day, our past or future. We feel fragmented, disjoined and exhausted.
That is why I always start each class with a short meditation and grounding to help us to become present-minded, to connect through our breath, gain clarity and more energy, on and off the mat.

Yoga teaches us that a self-compassionate and loving approach gives us a great sense of strength. It also offers so many tools to support our journey like mindfulness, awareness and stillness.

Sometimes through our practice, while healing our physical body, different emotional and mental aspects surface and give an opportunity to address them.

I look at the idea of self-care practices from two different angles. I wanted to dive deeper into the difference between them and describe why do I think that they are equally important."
