Early on this beautiful morning a gentle, little baby Soul was laid to rest on the farm.
Our Sweet Koko was one of four ponies rescued from a life of horrible circumstances. Before he came through these gates at Serenity he lived with neglect & abuse, deprived of light, food, care and the comfort of company...spending 24 hours of every day in a dark and dirty cement stall. Not even clean water.
Due to a bone/hoof condition left untreated, we knew after his intake health check that he would be on limited time - none of us, however, knew we would be making such hard decisions so soon.
His journey, along with Roland, Little D and Miracle is one of hope, rehabilitation and healing. Although my heart is breaking I stand firm and humbled in the KNOWING that Every Single Day of Life and Love, Care and Community he found with us was 100% better than where he came from. I give my love and thanks to our Director, Patricia for the tenacity and courage to do this work and save these precious lives.
Koko’s stall has been cleaned for the last time, his little Brown halter hung up in memorial. The sorrow and the love are just two sides of the same coin - they go together, and We wouldn’t miss out on the gifts of either.
