Front Squats of πŸ’©! -

Seriously though, front squats are not my strong point and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Even with lighter weights, I lean forward more than I should and for some reason love to hit depth and then hangout there for an extra second or two πŸ˜‚πŸ’πŸ». I usually do what others do when they aren't good at something -- stop. But If you can figure out how to improve and have the necessary means to do so, why give up? I've received feedback on my front squats before and this lift is not a priority for me at the moment in my current training, but I enjoy knowing that I can be better. I love lifting because it's so empowering yet humbling at the same time; you feel accomplished when you increase in weight or perform something correctly but at the same time you know that there is always room for improvement. -

Take-Away: continually work on improving ones self! If you recognize an area in need of improvement, determine if a change would add value to ones self and take the necessary steps to make it happen. πŸ‘ŠπŸΌ -

My motivation this week? REFEED in 2 days!! Doubling my carbs on Thursday to see how my body reacts. For now, I dream of carbs aka 🍩πŸͺ😍

A couple clips of my RDL or Stiff Leg Deadlifts from yesterday. I don't film my entire workout most days because it just takes too much time away from my workout and doesn't allow me to focus 100%. But I'll talk about this movement below ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️

RDL or Romanian Deadlifts target your glutes and hamstrings but also incorporate your lower back. On the way down, keep the barbell or dumbbell close to your body and feel the stretch in your hamstrings. As you come up, THINK (yes use your brain) about your glutes and hamstrings contracting and drive through your heels. SQUEEZE your glutes at the top! You shouldn't be feeling any sort of discomfort in the lower back ‼️‼️ If you do, take down the weights and keep perfecting the form until you're comfortable to move back up! -

These little changes in your workouts make a huge difference in the efficiency of the hour or two you spend in the gym. πŸ’ͺ🏼 Yes, you'll still hit these muscles by speeding through and trying to lift as heavy weights as possible... but you'll end up either hurting yourself or not seeing the results you're looking for. πŸ’πŸ»
