Can I be real with you?

I never liked getting photos taken, because I didn’t like how I looked.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now that’s changed, but there was a solid 2-3-year period in my late teens where I was SUPER self-conscious.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Going out I would be anxious about fitting in, which ultimately came from low self-confidence.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I had to drink beer to fit in? Done.
Had to play sports? Sure.
Hang out with these people? I’ll do it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Just follow the leader, walking the path I thought I was suppose to.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then one day, I woke up.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I stepped into WHO I truly was.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Understood what was TRUE to me, and fucking OWNED it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The clarity, power, and self-confidence that brings, is unmatched.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now I love taking photos!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now I can’t wait to shoot cool videos and create content.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m confident in who I am, confident in what I have to offer.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I find so often we’re so busy with the day-to-day, it’s hard to discover who you really are.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Not what you do… but WHO are you?

Step into that person by owning your true self, and watch how things start to come together for you.

Let’s address the myth that fat makes you fat 🥑
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s easy to think “low fat” diets are health for you.. But that’s not exactly true.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you see any kind of information come out suggesting that fat makes you fat, it’s usually based on a flawed studied or an inaccurate and/or biased interpretation of the results. 🤷‍♂️
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As with anything, the key is all about mindfulness, balance, and moderation.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’m not saying you have to go full keto or anything..
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But a nutrient dense, healthy diet must contain healthy fats.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you want better skin, hair, cognitive function, hormone productions and metabolism... I’d be sure you’re getting your fat!

Let’s talk about extreme “diets”.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Term “diet” is usually thought of as a short-term solution.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
“Once I get these 20 pounds off, then I’ll go back to what I’m used to.”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This mentality is misguided.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You obviously can’t sustain these extreme diets, and once you achieve your goal, you’ll revert to your old habits, and what comes with your old habits... is your old body.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You might be wondering why your weight isn’t budging if you’re eating 1200 calories and doing hours of cardio every day?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But when you don’t eat enough, important metabolic hormones begin to down-regulate.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Metabolic damage usually occurs from years of binge/restrict cycles. Like when you’re extreme dieting, then go off it and have an even bigger period of overeating.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I see this all the time.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Calorie deficits only need to be 10-20% lower than your maintenance calories to be effective. Anything more and you start to veer into dangerous metabolism damaging territory, and I guarantee you won’t sustain it for long.

And even though I go out for frozen yogurt from time to time with Ash, it’s actually not as hard as you think to achieve a sustainable deficit without feeling restricted.

Stop the all or nothing yo-yo cycle, and stick to a process that works that fits with your lifestyle.

It’s no surprise because social media allows us to compare everything.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And we do: relationships, diet, body, hair, clothes, holidays, lifestyles– but not just with your friends, but with total strangers and celebrities too.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
These are FLASE comparisons.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’re comparing filtered, fabricated highlight reels to our own raw, unfiltered life.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s almost a way of life now though. We now grow up with the internet as a staple in everyone’s daily routine... Phones attached to our hip during the day, and by our heads when we’re sleeping at night.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s always on. Always there. Always ready for us to consume and compare.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Here are some rules you should follow:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1️⃣ – Remind yourself that this is a highlight reel.. In most cases, someone will post the highlight of their week, month, or year. So don’t compare your average Tuesday morning to someone’s annual highlight moment.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2️⃣ – Change your habits. Download a usage app and see how much time you actually spend on the app, may surprise you how much time you’re actually on it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3️⃣ – Know that people who #nofilter … May not have a filter but photoshopped the shit out of it. It’s okay to look for inspiration and motivation, but it’s not okay to compare yourself, as it will always be a losing battle.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
4️⃣ – Be firm in who YOU are. Don’t look for external validation and DO NOT place your self-worth on the number of followers, like, comments or DM’s that you get.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
5️⃣ – Give yourself some downtime. Tune out for a few days, connect with people, live your life.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Follow these key 5 steps to help make your social experience as enjoyable as possible, without the negative impact to your emotional and mental health.

The side kick through is an amazing dynamic movement that challenges the whole body during a ground base rotational movement.

I like to slow it down mid set and fell my body move in space, making it a lot more challenging from hip to opposite shoulder.

Body image is a lot harder to change than the actual physical body is.

Another client Gerald was scared to even sing up, because he knew it was a commitment and was scared that he wouldn’t succeed.

Overcoming that mindset was one of the first things we did and now he at his goal weight and more importantly FEELING AMAZING on a daily basis, which allows him to crush it in all other areas of his life.

Nicole who’s getting married in October, was frustrated with her body image and had a poor sense of self, now she’s CONFIDENT as hell and is going to absolutely rock that wedding dress in the fall!

You always have a choice, you can stay in safety of what you know or LEAP into another reality… The person you envision yourself becoming.

Stop staying the same year after year and wondering “what if?”.

Allow yourself to take that step, and leap into your new reality.

Going all in and taking that leap is scary as hell… But realizing that you can fly after you jump, is the best feeling in the world.
