"That's a lot of caviar for one fish! Actually, this is a male mouthbrooding jawfish that is doing its part to incubate fertilized eggs...in its mouth. During the incubation process and up until the eggs hatch, the male fish cannot eat. GROSS OR AWESOME? Sound off in the comments!"

"Squirrels! Though often so ubiquitous they get overlooked, these little rodents are adorable up close. Did you know that they communicate using noise and scent making, and can also send signals to other squirrels with their tails? Photo cred: @jcnrad"

"Never has something that could hurt you so bad looked so good! This gorgeous jellyfish is the bluebottle, and is actually composed of several different organisms called zooids that cooperate to serve different functions. One of those functions might be outstretching the tentacles to catch prey and then gobble it up. AMAZING!! Photo Cred: Matt Smith"

"If you just saw this photo, would you believe this is Tenerife?! Absolutely beautiful!! 🌲🌲🌲😍😍😍
Such an amazing location for the brilliant @forestalpark_tf which you should definitely try, it's such great fun and an excellent challenge (especially if you have a bit of a fear of heights haha). Just remember you should do one thing everyday that scares you! ~

"We here at @Science will never get tired of star clusters. They’re just so beautiful! Last year, the Hubble Space Telescope captured NGC 339, which is an intermediate age star cluster located 200,000 light-years away from us here on Earth. Sitting in the constellation Tucana, this cluster is a part of the Small Magellanic Cloud (a dwarf irregular galaxy near the Milky Way) and is about 6.5 billion years old. How in the heck do you figure out the age of a cluster of stars? Just measure their brightness and colors, of course! Photo cred: ESA/Hubble & NASA"

"Holy aurora, Batman! What’s this? Flashback to 2016! The Hubble Telescope captured this amazing light show in Jupiter’s atmosphere and the swirling blue lights were picked up by Hubble’s ultraviolet capabilities. Auroras occur when high-energy particles come into a planet's atmosphere at its poles and collide with atoms of gas, which create spectacular light shows like this. "These auroras are very dramatic and among the most active I have ever seen. It almost seems as if Jupiter is throwing a fireworks party for the imminent arrival of Juno," said Jonathan Nichols, a lead investigator from the University of Leicester, UK. "Did you know that dogs are capable of understanding language?? According to a recent study published in 'Science,' dogs are able to understand the nuanced ways in which we speak to them. How did they find this out exactly? Volunteer dogs hopped into an fMRI and had their brains stimulated and scanned. Adam Miklosi, one of the authors of the study, explained, "The left brain of the dogs processed the meaningful words independent from the intonation. This means that the brain could probably recognize that 'good dog' is the same expression independent of how it was said." So have a convo with your sweet pooch and let us know how it goes in the comments!"

"For #MCM, @Science wants to honor the one...the only...@BillNye the Science Guy! As a mechanical engineer, educator and TV host, Nye has made an indelible imprint on children (and adults) everywhere with his ability to break down science into easy-to-understand concepts. Nye is currently the CEO of The Planetary Society, formed by Carl Sagan in 1980. He is working to further develop the Lightsail, which is a sail that uses solar radiation to propel spacecraft through space! We definitely look up to this bow-tied man and we can’t wait to see what else he does in the world of science! Fun fact: Bill Nye applied to be an astronaut several times, but was rejected each time."

"Niagara Falls is made up of three different falls (Horseshoe, American, and Bridal Veil, respectively) and sits on the border of the state of New York and the province of Ontario, Canada. These falls were created during the Wisconsin Glacial Episode, which scraped deep channels in the area, widening and creating more lakes and rivers. When the ice melted, these waters rushed into the Niagara River, eroding the softer rock and leaving the limestone behind, which created the cliffs. Photo cred: Niagara Falls Live"
