Scecina Football

#ScecinaFootball would like to wish congratulations to former Chaplain Fr. Peter Gallagher, who celebrated his 25th anniversary of ordination at St. Lawrence in Lawrenceburg today. Fr. Peter was always a mainstay on the sidelines, imploring the players, "Come on, fellas!" and remains a Crusader fan to this day, receiving updates to follow the exploits of our current Crusaders. Thank you, Fr. Peter, for your continued service to the spiritual needs in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

We are just as proud if not more of these student-athletes' performance in the classroom as we are on the field.

Congratulations to our Scecina football players who wrestle and all our Crusader grapplers for taking 3rd place in the Indiana Crossroads Conference Championship. Sophomore RB Victor Franco was a conference champ, and football players Jake Rebein and Leonard Love were runners-up. Other strong performances included 3rd place finishes by Dontaye Hamilton, Hunter Howard, Isaiah Wilson, and 4th place to Sam Defreese, Phil Troung, and Jacob Melton. Well done to all!

Happy New Year from your Scecina Football Family to your family! Prayers and blessings for a successful 2017 for all of us.

Congratulations to Senior Will Ferree for being named an Honoree for the Burlsworth National Character Award based on outstanding character and sportsmanship. Named for former University of Arkansas All-American and Indianapolis Colts' draftee Brandon Burlsworth, this honor represents the ideals and values that Brandon Burlsworth had: to give 100 percent on the field and to stand as a moral example to his team. The hope is that the award encourages the honoree to continue on his path of excellence and inspires others to follow his lead. We congratulate Will on his selection as an honoree and thank him for the character he has shown in "giving that little extra" to Scecina and his teammates over these years.

A very Merry Christmas from our Scecina Football family to yours
