Sometimes I just don't understand how people justify themselves.
If someone says, "this many kids were shot this year in school shootings" there will be 100 comments saying "that's not true, leftists, leave our guns alone"
We're talking about children. Killed by unnecessary guns. Like it's a fucking hobby like sewing or running or fucking rock collecting. Shooting shit is a fucking hobby. A hobby you put above the lives of children.
When someone says "this animal was tortured by a human with a firecracker and is lucky to be alive" there are people who respond laughing, saying that's hysterical and making jokes to insinuate they would do that as well.
This is an animal that was put through severe trauma severe debilitating injuries that it will never recover from and someone, somehow finds it funny?! I don't fucking get it. I just don't. And unfortunately while counting these comments the race and gender were not surprising in either conversation. There is something wrong here. As a culture. When somehow in some way white people think we need guns more than children. When white males think it's okay and fun to commit violent sadistic crimes to animals. It's a pattern. Maybe it's being so comfortable and so safe that you don't see beyond yourself and literally think the world revolves around your wants in life so harming others should not affect your definition of fun. Maybe having a safe childhood meant you never learned compassion or empathy or consideration for others.
I don't know what it is but there is clearly something wrong in our society.
