Sarah Bean  children's design & styling

Love & Unity gathering this evening -McGolrick Park 6:30.
back in brooklyn. so happy to be in our home but missing the simple beach life. it's been a tough weekend for our neighborhood and I'm feeling it.

possibly my favorite @babyletto item. The Lemonade playset! A child sized table and chair is meaningful for a kids space. Perfect for creating artwork, elevating play, a snack spot or whatever else seems fitting :). *link to the story and a Babyletto discount code in profile πŸ“· @ericryananderson

A good bookshelf is a key item for any kids room! Love both the Tally(pictured) & Presto by @babyletto. A tepee or tent is also always a plus! I had the pleasure of consulting on an interior design project for @parkeretc girls' rooms with @wellroundedny & @babyletto. *link to the story and a Babyletto discount code in profile πŸ“· @ericryananderson

and baby makes 3!

obviously I love using photographs in children's spaces. photos of them is a must. photos of their parents as kids is another favorite! my boys ask for bedtime stories about me and my adventures as a child all the time. choosing photos from a certain experience - like camping is such a fun and personal addition to a child's room. the conversations and questions old photographs spark are the best!

current basket ball boy! also living in the Fort William track shorts I snagged for both boys at the Sweet William farewell Brooklyn sample sale.

just about 5 years ago! leo was fascinated by the basket ball players at the park as a baby and toddler. he's gotten really into playing now! yay!

this guys got the summer nap down!!! and a new "little bed". more to come on Daniel's corner updates. for now the vintage Marimekko bedding is looking πŸ‘ŒπŸ».

the BEST part of my latest project was this cute and happy little "client"! one of the reasons I like designing spaces for little ones is because I can relate to the need for comfort in ones environment. many of us feel this way but I think children are extra sensitive. a room change and a baby brother moving in is a big deal for a kid. making sure Arthur felt at home in his new room was of top priority. adding photos at child height is a wonderful way to make any space feel familiar and to help foster ownership and confidence. Arthur immediately enjoyed pointing out his friends, mama and daddy. he then jumped right in his bed to cuddle new and old lovies! mission complete! *link to the @wellroundedny article about this room and beautiful family in profile.

leo said, "that is so cool - the pictures with the 🌡 are the best." :) @chapetitbark sent me a picture of the wallpaper as it was the first thing she chose for the new space. helping to make a cohesive environment out of exciting and new pieces is such a fun design jigsaw puzzle! I love the different color woods of the dresser against the greens of the wallpaper. *link to @wellroundedny article and more photos in profile. πŸ“·@stylishhipkids
