While exploring small town Smithville, Texas - Sofie & I discovered this "pay what you can" cafe. No price - you simply donate what you can. It supports a recovery group - everyone who works there are recovering addicts... drugs, alcohol etc... learning valuable skills while generating funds to support the group. This picture of Sofie by the mosaic mural was taken in the alley outside the cafe.
The time we took a road trip to Goliad, TX... a town that played an important role in securing a Texan victory during the Texas Revolution in 1836. This was taken at the Aranama Mission - a Roman Catholic Mission established by Spain in 1722 to convert the native Indians to Christianity.
