The Okavango Delta... No words needed when you wake up like this. 🙌🏽⠀

Sunrise over one of the best “Pools with a view” that we have encountered in South Africa. Down below is the Klaserie river, which is in important source of life for all animals in the region, making game viewing in this area particularly productive. Worth a visit? I think so⠀

In order for an elephant to clearly see the dangers ahead, it must raise its head like this. It also helps to make them seem larger and more powerful and with the ears out at the same time it’s pretty clear body language of “I SEE you!”. I love the scratches on the ears of this ele and they are caused from brushing past the vegetation in the area.⠀

I would like to take a moment to introduce a guiding legend, a mentor and a great friend of ours – Okwa Sarefo. Okwa was born and raised in the Okavango Delta and has been working here all his life. If you were to ask Okwa what his favourite animal is, he tells you “humans”, as one of his great passions for guiding is meeting people from all over the world. He is specialized in mobile walking safaris and is one of our TOP recommendations for an adventurous add-on to your next Botswana safari. Send us an email if you want to explore the waterways and Islands of the Okavango with one of the most experienced local guides!⠀

Can you imagine hearing through these ears! We were lucky enough to find this pack of Painted Wolves resting on the road after what must have been an exhausting morning out hunting. It was hard to tell exactly how many were in the area because they blend in so well into the surrounding bush!⠀

The life-giving Klaserie river. This is one of our favourite areas to explore in South Africa because it is as beautiful as it is productive with wildlife. Come see for yourself!⠀

It’s very hard to not laugh when a baby ele like this tries to intimidate you while on game drive. He’s still pretty new to the world and learning some crucial behavioural techniques which will help him later on in life. Such a cute little fella!⠀

The look on this male’s face is exactly why there wasn’t a hyena in sight! He is not willing to share and nobody is even going to try to ask! He actually stole this kill from Hyenas, and the hyenas stole the kill from the lionesses. I guess size kinda matters out here⠀

A rare photo of @wonderful_wild wild taking a photo of me taking her photo while she took mine?? Where does it end? Safari shenanigans ⠀

Out here we don’t need lawn mowers, we just need people to stop killing rhinos because they do it for free! We found this white rhino busy grazing on the fresh shoots of grass after the much-needed summer rains. Let’s hope he sticks around and survives the human pressures!⠀

We spotted an empty @ecotraining vehicle whilst on a recent trip to Makuleke. They are out for a training walk, preparing the future generation of nature lovers of what is required of them to conduct walking safaris in big 5 terrain. This is the same area Gesa and myself did our training and you can too! ⠀
