A few hours after this picture was taken I got to witness my mom as I'd never seen her before. // Broken down on the side of a road, 80 miles from the closest big city, I was in the passenger seat sobbing while my cool-as-cucumber mom called a tow truck, booked me a rental car and flight to make sure I made it to Seattle in time for my first day at work. To make a long story short the flight and rental car wasn't needed, we did have to buy a new car and completely repack it in 30-degree weather in the tiny town of Laurel, MT. We made it Seattle the next day and my mom stayed with me 29 days longer than she planned. // Those four days in a packed down car and the subsequent four weeks after my arrival in Seattle are moments I will cherish forever. I learned so much about her and from her in those days that make my heart want to explode with love and respect for her. // On this Mother's Day I am beyond grateful for my beautiful, brilliant and resilient mom. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for me. I hope I can grow up to be half the woman you are. I love you so much!
