Dear friends! We would like to congratulate the teams of breakdown recovery trains, as it is their professional holiday today! Their duties were first specified in 1936, when a special order was issued to upgrade their status, enabling them to arrive at the accident scene as promptly as possible even when the volume of rail traffic was high. Nowadays the importance of breakdown recovery trains is as critical as ever, and their teams are always ready to help at a momentโ€™s notice.

Today is a special occasion: exactly 31 years ago, the Baikal โ€“ Amur Mainline was officially put into operation. Over 4,000 km long, nowadays it is one of the largest mainlines in the world. Construction workers built more than 1,000 bridges and dug their way through seven mountain ridges in order to link the remote parts of eastern Russia with its center. We would like to thank them for their hard work and enormous contribution to the project!
