FAIL FORWARD.

In every time i fail i never cursed the sky or anybody! I know there is growth from it and i need to hold on little bit longer! I am not talking just only me but also to many out there who have been pressured to the state they want to give up! .
To master something or get to know it better, we need to study it closely or take time to reflect and meditate it!
In distance running, it takes courage, consistency, persistence, patient and hard work with smart approach to get where you what to go! But this doesn't mean you will get a clear shot along the way! A lot have be done or taken into consideration! you will need to very strong!
If you don't get prove from others that you can do it! Don't mind that! It is you who are responsible of your own dream and happiness!you don't need it either!!
Don't let the voice of fear, voice that distract you from focus to hinder your mission! Just shut your ears, open your eyes and allow your heart guide you!

My P. E Teacher believed in me more than my brothers and closer friends. He made me have more confidence in myself than i had, that i will be a good runner! With that spirit, i kept hope and worked hard and i still on that road!
Do not give up! Do not hesitate to take a step to the direct of your dream! Do not let those negative voices, from friends, relatives and others to distract your focus and Do not compare yourself from others! Know your journey and what it takes to keep the journey great and rewarding!

Who inspires you to keep running?and what is your source of Motivation? Coach Mike, is a triathlon coach and a running coach and loves cycling! He is a former triathlete and now a master who is at 55 and can run this fast.

A year ago, a visitor to Kenya had a chat with me while running and he asked me how old i was! I told him i was 29 and he smiled and told me that i had a few years to run!
In my mind i was asking myself how he got to know how long i will be a running! I asked him his age and told me 47yrs and i told him, 'you can still run' 😊!
.
My point here is, in running age is just a number! I have seen many old people run and make history! So do not discouraged and see that running is for young people but for all people at all ages!
.
Coach Mike as a PB in M50+ in 1:14 and 5km in 16min.
I always have reasons why i should keep running! This is my happiness this is who i am! A Runner!

STRIDE

What is it? How do you do it?
Strides are short bursts of 15-30 sec gradual  running that can be done at the end of an easy run or you can do it before your workout session!

I always recruit this running drill intomy training to help me train for better form and mechanics. I like doing it on my easy days at the repeat of 8-10
.
I also like doing it in absence of a watch or heart rate as i want to feel it! To enjoy it without any pressure from a running gadgets!
.
Next time you want to do a strides! Remember to keep your torso tall while relaxed. Don't do it like you're sprinting! It is a stride not a sprint! The aim is not looking for speed here lather form and mechanics!

One of that moment you want to feel good! Keep your mind away from the stressful time from work and think of the better and peaceful time ahead!
At times you wonder why it rained in the morning when you supposed to get that workout done! Why the alarm ⏰ was off when you thought it was on! When you thought you wore a tie but you get to work only find out you reft it at home! When you took coffee ☕ and you then realized you needed tea🍵.
Sometime we cant predict 🔮 how things unfold but one thing for sure, is that we can be better and can be keen if we allow it by training our mind! Many of us overlook mental training, some think its for the sick etc.. As runners we do love training our body and we give it a bigger percentage in our life but we forget that the source of being sane is to train our mind ...! Not only to remember each day's work or activities but to help us cope with ever ending challenges we face each day in our life!!
Train your body but let us not forget our mind too!

Q/A (from previous tip)

RECOVERY run differs from one runner to another but for me.. Recovery run is the easy-paced and slow run help make my stiff legs feel okay. It should be short run and those who use heart rate sometimes should monitor the zones ! Like mine recovery run is below 143bpm with sensation score of 1 or around 10-12km per hour! (this is my definition and score)

SUMMARY TO A GREAT RUNNING .
Having a good running posture is important for us runners! Not because it can help run faster but it helps us to avoid injuries.
We should be vigilant on how each one's stride length should be. Why? Monitoring it will help us correct our running mechanics if it is getting out of balance . Many of us train on the roads that are chambered like here in Ngong hills and if it is not, it is hard surface like concrete! We should be keen on this because the rate of recovery for these roads differ and the impact it gives our body.
If you can access to the softer roads the better! I like running on soft surfaces like dirt track, grass paths and fields and cycle paths are also good.
Recovery is always equals to the training! Giving your body time to recover will help you to repair itself and this can help you to avoid injury!
I hate massage but it is the gift for my muscles! It helps our muscle relax, it untighten the knots that might have build in the blood vessel or muscle and can help you feel nice after few days.
So apart from putting one leg in front of the other, we should always check out other small parts that might make running enjoyable and great!!
