*Mentor Spotlight* Monie Corona is a mentor at Mark Twain elementary, which was one of the schools Running 505 expanded to this year. This is what Monie had to share about herself and Running 505:
"I have only been running for 5 years and it all started by a particular someone in my life who told me I could never run a 5k for various reasons. So, me being me had to prove them wrong. I have about 20+ 5ks, 7 10ks and 5 1/2 marathons under my belt. Running became a part of my life- it clears my mind and makes me feel good all over. I don't want to become one of those people who sit on the sidelines when they are older... I want to be out there, still in the game, enjoying it to the fullest. I have been super lucky to have a lot of support through friends who encourage me to keep being the best me I can be and who also inspire me.
In my spare time you will find me outdoors. That is truly my happy place. Exploring, hiking, running, camping, walking the dog- life is an adventure and these are the paths I choose.
Running 505 affords me the opportunity to share my love for running with children who might not think they are "runners". I want to inspire them and motivate them to stay active and healthy". Monie, we thank you for your dedication to your students and your love of running. 🏃🏽♀️❤️ #running505 #yourockmonie #keepexploring #runners #mentorspotlight
