After 574 weeks, he continues to be; loving, compassionate, caring and empathetic. A lifelong vegetarian and lover of animals, he can't watch Animal Planet because it hurts his heart. He is secretively and deeply sensitive, holding his feelings close to his chest, rarely letting anyone see them. Somehow he is quiet and loud, silly and serious at the same time. . While he has spent the last 41,018 days becoming the boy he is today: a leader, a comedian, a thinker, an athlete, an intelligently cynical optimist who brings laughter and adventure to those around him. I have spent each of those days in awe of who he is. I hope in the 96,451 hours of his life leading up to now, that he has realized and continues to realize: he is powerful, creative and brilliant, that he has already changed lives and touched hearts, that although the world isn't perfect it is full of hope as well as vast beauty that he is capable of contributing to, and most of all that he is loved and adored beyond all measure.
I am overwhelmingly thankful for every single second of the 5,787,060 minutes of Cubby that I have been blessed with so far.
I love this beautiful child with the spirit as wild and untamed as his curls and eyes reflect the intensity in which he lives his life. Happy Birthday Cubby! #birthdayboy #part2
