So update for mama, it's alive! Obviously there's a video of it running. The reason it's idling at 850 instead of 500 is because I bought a belt just long enough to be too long. With the smaller harmonic pulley I need a smaller alternator pulley. To make the belt work, I have to put the regular pulley on. The MSD street fire coils pull so much current the truck is idling up to account for the current draw. It has a slight overheating problem, but I had that with the original engine, the mechanical fan just doesn't move enough air at idle, now slow it down with a 15-16 year old radiator that has probably never been cleaned....you can see where that'd lead to an engine running a little hot (200 instead of 180). We also had one hell of a scare, there's a piece of plastic that covers up the torque converter and flex plate. I put it on in between runs. Well when I started it the second time, it made a sound that sounded like a rod knocking. There's was such a sigh of relief when there were bolts scrape marks on this plastic, took it off, sound disappeared too.
