I'm currently sat here, in a little coffee shop drinking my vanilla chai latte and reading a book. Something which I rarely get to do these days. And I'm imagining what these next few days of the @trouvailleworkshop are going to be like, with butterflies in my belly and the feeling of pure anticipation.
Yesterday I wasn't even sure if I was going to make it here after all. My 7am flight to Amsterdam was cancelled due to a technical problem on the plane, which meant I missed both my connecting flights to the US. I'm not a great flyer as it is, so being by myself I was already more nervous than usual. So when my flight was cancelled, I'm sure you can imagine what those nerves, coupled with a lack of sleep did to me. But I was determined not to let anything get in the way of my travelling half way across the world. Thankfully, the airport staff were great and they rebooked me onto a different flight schedule and after 30 hours of travelling I finally arrived in Michigan in the early hours of this morning (only 8 hours later than originally planned).
So now after a restful sleep, some traditional American pancakes for breakfast and a much needed call to Paddy and the boys, I'm now eager and excited to head over to meet the rest of the attendees and speakers. You know my IG stories are going to be full of behind the scenes snaps so if you want to follow along keep an eye out there.
And how peaceful does the lake look here? Quick iphone snap of my current view.
