Everyone always starts the same way when we're on this journey. "All I want to do is lose 10lbs", " I just want abs", " I just want to put on a little size", all of us have said one of these at one point or another. What we don't realize is when we accomplish these goals (hopefully) we will already be thinking about what's next. These small goals are great! But always remember there is a bigger picture out there for us. Our journey is never ending. Enjoy it. So this pic is part of the puzzle I have been working very hard on, thickness to my legs on side poses. Still not quite where we want to be but you better believe I'm fucking working. πŸ’ͺ🏻.

Another high carb day today for legs tonight after work. Don't feel to depleted today so will keep the carbs mostly complex to keep blood sugar down and not spike the insulin. Weight hovering around 211-214, not really concerned with weight but it is part of the puzzle that lets me know I am progressing and not staying the same. Breakfast this morning is 1 cup egg whites, 2 packets of oatmeal, and 1 banana. Roughly 40 protein, 70 carbs, and 6 fat. #grind #progress

Trying to work on these classic physique poses. Posing is something that requires constant repetition and a keen eye for detail. Just like with lifting weights we can make slight changes to what would be considered "perfect form" to help feel the exercise better or in the case of posing accentuate our strengths and hide our weaknesses. For the bodybuilders out there it isn't enough to just go train in the gym it's what you do outside of training like nutrition, cardio, and posing that will separate you on stage. And for everyone else it isn't enough to just show up to the gym, we need to push ourselves to be 1% better everyday! Maintenance isn't an option. #respectthegrind p.s couldn't get my arms really in the whole pic soo would look more like a pose instead of me fixing a lightbulb.

Feeling that pump from high carb day yesterday. If you didn't see my story it was approx 800 carbs and 4200 calories mostly from brown rice, cereal, and some fruits. Today was arm/touch up day. Starting to notice some asymmetry in my right tri and chest so did lots of unilateral work today and will continue to do so till my strength evens out. Our bodies will never be perfect, but you better believe I'm gonna do everything I can to try to be. Always be self aware, be your toughest critic, and never be scared to go backwards to make more steps forward! πŸ’ͺ🏻 #youknow #thegrindcontinues

Wanted to get a nice chest/shoulder pic for you guys but this is as high as I could get my arms πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Another great day at the gym! As you can see no smiling when there's work to be done! For today's chest/shoulder session I decided to start with an isolation exercise (flat dumbbell flies) as opposed to a compound like bench. The reasoning behind this is that not only do I get a pump in my chest, to help squeeze better, but also make sure my chest is failing before my arms when I do my compound like bench. And to answer your question, yes, my strength was down on bench due to already being a little fatigued, but my quality of reps on bench was def better! Try it out. πŸ’ͺ🏻

So it was a late one for me last night, worked a 12 at the hospital and had to run home to do some errands and take care of my puppy 😊. Anyway, I actually wrote this last night cause I wanted to share with you guys the fresh emotions I felt coming out of the fucking gym instead of writing about it "tomorrow". Or today? πŸ€”πŸ€”πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. It was one of the best gym days I've ever had. Everything was there; energy, intensity, power, focus, and connection. It was the kinda day us bodybuilders dream about. Best part is that it happened coming off an exhausting, looooonnggggg day. My back was against the wall, I knew it was going to be a long gym day and I already felt the weight of the day on my shoulders. But before I went inside the gym, I sat in my car for a minute, shut my eyes, and told myself: "When I open my eyes, it's fucking game on!" Life lesson: Sometimes that adversity or uncomfortableness we feel can bring out extraordinary things in us. Embrace it, be extraordinary.

Fucked up the flash lmao, but still a cool looking pic. Tip of the day: Life gets in the way sometimes in this lifestyle. Always have to prepare for rain and hope for sunshine! Make your bad days the exception not the rule. πŸ’ͺ🏻 #grindon

My vision for the physique I've been training for has never been more clear. When you first start training you kind of just stick with basic movements and try to get "big". As your training evolves you begin to shape your body more and start to chisel out what you want your physique to look like. Being a drug free competitor I know that gainz aren't exactly easy to come by. With that being said the improvements I've made on this Back double Bicep shot this past year are simply unbelievable to me. The progress I've made from hard work and dedication will continue to motivate me to be that much better! #babysteps #wheresmychisel? #weaknesstostrength #gainz

Real down and depleted right now, kind of happy I saved high carb day for the 4th tho πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ. Gonna be great day tomorrow! Some back training with treats and of course can't have the 4th without some 🍺🍺🍺😁.

Chest/shoulder Day!!! Showing off that hard earned upper chest in this one 🦍πŸ’ͺ🏻. Honestly I'd like to portray like I had an amazing workout but in fact I didn't. Sometimes it just goes that way. I woke up this morning at my lowest weight after back to back low carb days. I thought to myself I should probably carb up today and train later tonight, but decided against it. Big mistake! Strength and energy was awful and would have fuckin killed someone for a fuckin pump, but we live and we learn and hopefully some of you learn from my story also. Always trust your body, it knows best. #keepgrinding #cantwaittotraintomorrow #gaintrain #πŸš‚

Merry Half Christmas? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚Years and years of heavy deadlifts will get that πŸŽ„or spinal erectors to pop. Deadlift is such a great overall compound movement to not just put slabs of muscle on our bodies but burn tons and tons of calories to help us get fuckin peeled. This Pic is from a progress video I took a couple weeks back. #AmillionAnd1dayout #gotprotan?

Leg day pump! As you can see the conditioning is coming in quite nicely. When you change your mindset from prepping for a show to just doing it for yourself Amazing things happen. No stress from trying to lose weight or dropping carbs to fast or excessive cardio. I am just reacting to what my body is telling me, and it's paying off. Might be a show at the end of this but for right now this ones for me. πŸ’ͺπŸ»πŸ‹πŸ»
