The iPhone doesn't handle the extremes well but on the left a standard monitor at say 200 nits on the right the 30,000 Sony at 1000 nits the difference is obvious but is it better? HDR the new buzzword.
I shot for several days on different Arleigh Burke class destroyers at dock in San Diego while filming The Last Ship They were sister ships of the USS Fitzgerald and we actually shot a scene in the bunk room when probably most of the deaths occurred as the bulbous bow of the container ship crushed through the hull below water. Such a tragic and avoidable accident? The crew we met from the Captains on down were extraordinary. My thoughts are with the families and loved ones.
Lens Day at the ASC was a wonderful success. All lens Producers present but the magic glass continued to be the wonderful old primes from another era and were all on display in the lens rehousing gallery inside
