Vong Kitchen is a contemporary restaurant with seasonal and signature dishes curated by celebrated chefs @chefjgv & @cedvongerichten (right next door to @leburger_jkt!) We complemented the Vongerichtens’ theatrical and colorful food with a sophisticated New York grill-style dining room, adding a bright solarium bar and an elegant terrace. #whatwemake 📸: @editphoto

Located in Jakarta's Alila SCBD hotel, Le Burger is driven by a casual industrial setting and accented with bright copper and fun fabrics. The balance of playful and serious complements the gourmet burgers by @chefjgv and @cedvongerichten #whatwemake 📸: @editphoto

For @tootsiemusical, we depict NYC buildings in watercolor-covered light boxes with LED-embedded skeletal structures above - a mix of hard and soft -hinting at the story’s focus on the dance between Masculine and Feminine. #Tootsie is now playing in Chicago for a pre-Broadway engagement! 📸: #DavidRockwell

With majestic and uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean, OMNIA Dayclub and Sake No Hana restaurant are located on the southwestern tip of the Bukit Peninsula of Bali. Floating above the Dayclub, the restaurant has a simple Japanese aesthetic, with a grand, bleacher-like staircase. Stone and wood screen walls keep the sea air flowing. @tootsiemusical's pre-Broadway engagement has begun in Chicago! Directed by 8-time Tony nominee Scott Ellis (reuniting with David Rockwell for the first time since “She Loves Me,” for which David won a Tony Award for Best Scenic Design), this brand new musical is an adaptation of the 1982 hit film. Check out our Stories for a sneak peek at our set design! We’re loving this marquee photo by @bostonchigirl!

"OMNIA Dayclub has an organic flow: guests can move around constantly, for great perspectives and panoramic views. One of my favorite viewpoints is from one of the two-story villas, overlooking both the Sea of Cortez and the club atmosphere below." Partner Shawn Sullivan discusses the inspiration behind OMNIA Los Cabos on their blog. Link in bio for the full Q&A. #whatwemake 📸: @omnialoscabos

"'I wanted to make this the town square,' [#DavidRockwell] said — a gathering place that could function as a social bazaar, which sounds like an old-fashioned way for people to connect in the internet age." @NYT visited the brand new @BlueSchool last week. Can you find healthy food at airports? More and more, the answer is yes. Gavi by @OTGExp is bringing balanced Italian cuisine to George Bush Intercontinental Airport. Inspired by a terrazza, our design transports passengers outdoors through modern abstractions of nature. Read more about Gavi and airports catering to wellness-minded travelers in @NYTimes. "For me, design is about creating memories. When I go around the world, what I’m collecting is different things that create these memories—and that becomes like a bank of things we can use in our work.” @robbreport visited our office and David Rockwell talked about some of his favorite possessions (like his @steinwayandsons pianos) and places. At tonight's Picnic by Design event hosted by DIFFA, we’re presenting a glimpse of the Shubert Foundation’s theatrical archives. This is the perfect thematic complement to the Broadway-themed picnic baskets on auction to benefit organizations fighting HIV/AIDS. Posters like the one above highlight the Golden Age of the Imperial Theatre, the crown jewel of the Shubert brothers' empire, built in 1923.
