Kylle Esteban began working for ROCK when he was a high school senior at Rockwall-Heath HS in 2012. After graduating in 2013, he continued working for ROCK while he put himself through college.
Kylle will graduate from college in December 2017 and will be working in special education at Utley Middle School under Principal Steinberger and Assistant Principal Kody Hergert, who were former basketball coaches of Kylle in middle school.
A group of Kylle’s ROCK students at Hartmen Elementary shared that he is nice and funny. They love how he interacts with everyone and makes sure everyone is included in whatever activity they are doing. #ILoveRockwallISD

Reinhardt Elementary Fourth grade teachers, Kim Acker and Brenna LeCroy, teamed up with Library Media Specialist Erin Figert to take the fourth graders on a virtual field trip to the New York State's Department of Sanitation.
The students have been studying recycling in their science classes and were able to see how New York processes their trash and their recycling.
They will follow up in their classroom by comparing a local Texas city's recycling program and then develop ways that they can help with recycling in their community.
There were plenty of “oohs” and “aahs” along with a lot of learning. #ILoveRockwallISD

Amy Parks-Heath fifth grade SAGE students successfully completed a 225 piece Rubik’s Cube mosaic of Albert Einstein. The project was inspired by fifth grader Noah Mazraani’s enthusiasm for The Rubik’s Cube.
Noah lead his class through the algorithms and reasoning involved in creating the required patterns, which was no easy feat. Mosaics are a great way to celebrate the success of learning to solve one side of the cube while providing practice to memorize the algorithms. The success of their first mosaic has inspired them to attempt a 600 piece mosaic as their next project!

Stevenson Elementary students in grades 2-6 recently hosted a Superhero Arcade with games inspired by Caine’s Arcade.
Students were encouraged to bring quarters for donations to play the games during their Specials rotations.
Donations were raised for their adopted school, Jacinto City Elementary in Houston. Their school had damage from Hurricane Harvey and Stevenson students were able to raise over $600 to help the students with supplies and class readers.
A fun time was had by all students for a great cause. #ILoveRockwallISD

Springer Kindergarten classes took their first field trip to Green Meadows Petting Farm in Grand Prairie, TX. The students studied farm animals during their expository text unit in reading.
Kindergarteners got to pet horses, pigs, cows, emus and many other animals. They watched a pig race and got to milk a real cow.
A live scarecrow was also available for pictures in front of a giant jack-o-lantern made out of hay bales.

Jones Elementary fifth graders in Ms. Butler's class recently used Google Expeditions to experience the locations of the American Revolution.
Students used virtual reality goggles to see where Paul Revere rode, where the Battle at Lexington and Concord happened and where the American troops marched to meet the British soldiers. Ms. Butler led the students through the tour and gave information about the locations. “It was awesome,’ said Johnny Antone, a fifth-grade student. “It helped me learn because I could see it, not just read about it on paper.” #ILoveRockwallISD
