#marchmeetthemaker DAY THREE • How I started... When the twins came along I decided I really couldn't return to work (I was a Marketing & Promotion Manager at a busy seaside venue in Brighton), so I decided to start a little business making tutus. I didn't have a sewing machine, so I hand sewed them until I made enough money to buy a machine. I have a lovely group of friends on my personal Instagram account & they bought my often terribly made tutus for their little ones & from then I created a business page called Twinkle Tutus.
Sales came in thick & fast and I decided to move onto tops as well and was often asked for Boys items too. Clearly "Twinkle Tutus" wasn't the right name for the business with the introduction of the boys range and the tops, so after an Instagram post, the name Rocket & Rose was decided on & in 2012 the business re-branded.
The rest as they say, is history. We've grown from the kitchen table to the spare room, to the master bedroom, to the garage and now into a spacious workshop with a team of 5 and 3 separate business (I'll tell you about the other 2 we run another time!) Hopefully our products & our photography has improved since these photos!
What a journey we've had and are continuing on! #wouldntchangeitfortheworld #twinkletutus
