I GOT MY UK VISA!!!!! 💃🏼👏🏼🇬🇧🎉 I can now officially live & work in the UK for 2 years!!!! (After that I'll apply for a different visa or citizenship!)
Honestly, besides the visa application process which went actually very smoothly, everything that could go wrong organizationally with this Toronto trip did 😭 I admit I'm not the most organized, but if you followed me this past year, you'll remember I have THE WORST luck with travel and this kind of thing ☹️ just as I was getting settled in, the keys to my Airbnb slipped out of my pocket in a taxi a few days ago and the cab company STILL can't find/bring up the transaction to find the car to ask about the keys... had to stay in a hotel bc the security wouldn't let me in (I'm in now and got my luggage)... almost booked flights to leave early & so Ben canceled his flights to Toronto, THEN I found out I can't enter the UK until the 28th as written on my visa anyway, so I have to stay til next week 😭 and I had to book ANOTHER place to stay and spent way more $$ than I had planned to. UGH at least it will all be done/completed/over in 1 week. This visa is SO important to me because it means I can start a normal life and routine again. It's been a year since I've had what felt like consistency with living/settling (self-inflicted obv).
Even with the colossal hassle of it all, I couldn't be happier with my choice and my life. @benfranciis and I are so happy, and we miss each other more and more every time we have to be apart. For the very first time in my life I've felt HOMESICK 😳 while here! It's a weird feeling but it confirms everything - Canada 🇨🇦 occupies a special place in my heart, but England is now my home ♥️🇬🇧 I'm so excited for my (official) new life in the UK with some of my favourite people ☺️☺️☺️
My parents are visiting me and we're going to Niagara Falls so that will be fun in the meantime 🌊
