Can't help but think of my mom today on #mothersday . She was already suffering from Alzheimer's when this photo was taken, her memory fading, but her spirit in tact. Nothing can take away the love she gave not just us, but everyone she met. She was the first woman I thought was funny, she was insanely creative, could pick out a hit song on the radio before it was a hit, sewed my clothes, made even a basic peanut butter and jelly sandwich taste better than anyone's, crocheted extraordinary items for people she cared about breathing love into every stitch, welcomed all to the table, showed me how to have faith, and even until the day she died, taught me about love through her courage and strength. I miss her every day. I love you, Mom.
